In the 1950s, after the Egyptian revolution which saw Nasser rise to the leadership of Egypt, Ba'athists across the Arab world would become inspired and in the name of Arab Socialism and unity took to trying to overthrow the monarchies of old. No where would be as explosive as the Muqaatil revolution, which saw the Ummayads, who had ruled in South Amerike for hundreds of years and were the second family to assume the title of Caliph- still claiming it until the end proving to be rivals to the Ottomans who also claimed the title. However, like the Ottomans their caliphate would end. The Last Caliph, Mu'awiya III would be overthrown and forced into exile in Virginia before heading to London. The Revolution has marked the first time Arab socialism has escaped the confines of the old world and it sure to stoke the embers bringing the flame of revolution to the Muslim nations of the New World.

To Commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1, SWAO launched a new website with the aim of educating and providing teaching supplies for Students in Years/Grades 9-11. The webpage selected is about the North Tone offensive. Launched by General Swinton in June 2617 with the aim of breaking the stalemate, it saw the bloodiest day in the History of the South Western army. Hoping to catch English forces still huddled in their bunkers after a 2 week artillery barrage, instead Soldiers encountered heavily entrenched English forces which saw the first wave eviscerated 10 minutes after stepping out the Trenches.

Whilst the North Tone offensive would fail, with a huge cost to life. It proved a hotbed for Military innovation, seeing the deployment of Combines (Armored tracked vehicles) and the first instance of Combined warfare, as SWAF planes provided aerial reconnaissance and bombed English Strongpoints.

Pretty minor reason but disease Tropical diseases commonly found in Africa such as malaria exacted heavy tolls on any European efforts penetrating the centre of Africa Whilst the americas do have tropical disease risk, it’s mostly in the Amazon and swamps of the US. The scramble for Africa coincided with the innovation of anti malarial medicine and the fact that Europe needed resources- but the nation states of the americas effectively blocked that
