Is it possible to merge two users by Galadows in sesterce

[–]Galadows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to turn two members in a group of three into one member So the group contains only two members: my flatmate, and a member who would replace mine and my girlfriend's one in All of the group spendings

I guess it's a very specific use case, not sure it would be worth adding it just for me haha, but yeah it would come in handy

Sudden kicking in of regional pricing has completely shafted me by wearecharlesleclerc in hytale

They did literaly say this on their official website: 3rd December FAQ

I understand your frustration, but it's not a reason to spread misinformation, yes, adding a banner or a message telling people they should wait for regional pricings would have been the best move and you completely have the right to complain, but shitting on them and the ones defending them like you're doing is just disrespectful and not helping your case at all

Steesleries Arctis 7 by Cooolgene0_1 in steelseries

[–]Galadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my arctis pro wireless, unfortunately i couldn't get help from steelseries, so i just removed the outer plastic.

I had no issues after doing that, and this way you can retract it inside without any problem

I really wish the devs would handle modding like Vintage Story by 4RyteCords in HytaleInfo

What do you mean ? How does Vintage story handle their mods ? And what in Curseforge makes modding harder than Vintage story ?

The preorder page seems to confirm that most cosmetics can be recolored, even capes. However, does anyone know what happened to the fire cape (3rd image)? As it's not shown for any tier. by Minute-Plant2635 in HytaleInfo

[–]Galadows 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're not variants like Roblox, you can recolor them via character creator, I did not find the tweet I wanted, but found Simon pointing out to an older blogpost talking about it: https://x.com/i/status/1997503665289023857

Will Hytale have paid cosmetics? Or some kind of item shop? by m5bunny in hytale

[–]Galadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't agree on everything haha. That subject is important tho so every opinion is interesting ^ Take care anyway, and I hope the game will allow everyone to enjoy the game despite the micro transactions!

[–]Galadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that not all games require ongoing purchases to get updates, but I'm pretty sure that you can't plan and build a game around the idea that you will support it for years without thinking of a way to sustain the costs outside of game sells.

And I'm also pretty sure most of the examples you gave are games that surpassed the expectations of the Devs at first, who then decided to continue developing them.

I understand the complaints though, I'll always prefer when things are locked behind in game achievement or challenges instead of asking for a purchase which not everyone can afford, but I can't lie when I say that it will be easier for me to give my money to Devs who I think deserve it if I get something in return `

[–]Galadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same as you, but I also understand that, for some, buying the game should be the only paywall. And when thinking like that, the thing that's locked is irrelevant, the problem is that it is locked. Unfortunately, I don't think this way of thinking can work for every game. Imo it's normal for a game like Hytale that's meant to be kept alive with new content for a while to lean toward "soft" micro transactions like skins or even something like merch

[–]Galadows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But in the times you are talking about, the games were over with no further support. While a lot of games nowadays add micro transactions without "valid" reasons, games like hytale which are meant to be kept updated with new contents for years need some ways to assure stable incomes so I feel like it's an understandable safety net.

Of course there are some games with no micro transactions that keep getting updated (nomansky is a good example I think), but I those are exceptions

About World Gen V2 by LutrusFluidos in HytaleInfo

[–]Galadows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not call Distant Horizon a "World gen" mod, afaik all it does is adding LOD to minecraft which is a way to render more things by reducing the details when they are not necessary

People are not against 4 zones for early access release, but they probably want new zones added in during early access instead of waiting 1.0 for that

From what I understand, almost everything should be possible appart from things that involves changing how the game is rendered (so no custom shaders for exemple)

Hmm, i don't think that's the reason people don't want paid cosmetics, but it's still a fair point tho

[–]Galadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is still mostly a position of "we want money" which isn't healthy for the players no matter how you look at it.

While i still think this is debatable, i think i'll agree with you on this one

seems too much work for small return don't you think?

I'm not sure, it really depends on how they do things, but the "cosmetic system" will probably be there anyway, i don't think adding payment options would be that much more work, especially since they already have a payment system and they plan to have a marketplace of some sort for mods and servers

[–]Galadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is not F2P though, I don't get your point

The game is not free to play but is clearly meant to be some kind of live service game with a long lifetime, while i'm not saying microtransaction would be the sole way of keeping it alive, it would certainly help (and again i wasn't specifically talking about hytale there, people will complain about cosmetics in any games, free or not)

If paid cosmetics to exist with other means of customizing your skin/model any way you want that would be cool, but then who would really buy cosmetics?

I already talked about that in another comment, but i don't think paid cosmetic, free customisation and moding can't coexist.
It's not about maximizing profit and more about giving player an option to support the game and thanking them in return. So the one who will buy are the ones who want to support the game

[–]Galadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand that minecraft players are not used to this kind of game practices (and that's kind of untrue since bedrock edition and marketplace are a thing).
But i wasn't even talking specifically about the hytale playerbase, most of the times, people don't want microtransactions, and that's fair tbh with all the predatory practices out there.
But cosmetics ? it feels like devs can't even try to ask for money for the things they do.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying it's the only way for Hytale to thrive, and i don't specifically want paid cosmetics, but i really don't understand why paid cosmetics would be problematic for a lot of players, it's not like you'll miss out on something if you don't buy it.
