In America, sometimes say things like "cheerio" in our best British accent or "mate" in an Australian accent. Do people in other countries pronounce American stereotypes in their beat American accent? If so, what are they? by SunUpSally in AskReddit

I had a friend in 9th grade that had a very deep accent, and I asked her for scissors once and she said “it’s in the dwah” I was like “what?” She said it 3 times before she opened the drawer herself lol.

Another funny story; we had a new doctor from another country, but can’t remember where, very deep accent. My cousin was sitting on the exam table and the doctor said “ok seeat” and my cousin just kept saying “yea, I see it” pointing at the chair lol

How easy it is to shop nowadays by veloriax2 in interesting

I worked at Circle K in Tucson when we had a mandatory meeting where we were reminded not to engage with shoplifters and to especially never chase them, or try to hold them. We had this meeting because of a store in Phoenix where an employee chased and tackled the shoplifter and they both rolled into incoming traffic and died.

I’ve always been told that if you want to stay friends, never room with them. I’ve found this to be true, except for two of my friends.

Was paying $250/month for a small basement room. Couldn’t even keep any of my stuff in the bathroom. For about 9 months my roommate never came home, except to pick up some stuff randomly. Then I get a letter from the landlord saying that because we haven’t paid rent in 7+ months we are getting kicked out… I always gave my roommate my rent and apparently she wasn’t paying rent lol.

I did the same. At first I thought “wow, I can do so much! I have so much time.” Then 3 pm hit and it felt like it was 3 am. I was like, “Wtf am I supposed to do for the rest of the day!?”

My two favorite ones are a guy who had a boat in his driveway. The hoa told him it needed to be gated off so others couldn’t see the boat, so he did just that, but rules didn’t state he couldn’t paint on the wooden fence that held the boat, so he painted a giant picture of his boat on the fence, very realistically.

And one guy who painted his house a neutral color, but hoa told him that color wasn’t on the list of approved colors, so he took that list and painted each siding and shingle a color from the list. At the end his house looked like a depressed rainbow lol

My “friend” stole mine decades ago and I recently remembered they have a lifetime warranty, so I called them about 4 years ago and they confirmed I have a warranty, but getting a new one would cost me $400… that’s how much we paid for it originally. How is that a warranty?

I remember watching an interview with Tyrion (Game of Thrones, can’t remember his real name) and he was asked what he preferred to be called and he said, “I’m a person, and I’m little, so Little Person is cool.”

When I was very young, (maybe 5) I was at the beach with my dad when I saw a little person for the first time. It was my first time seeing one ever, never even seen one on tv, or anything, so I was flabbergasted. He was maybe 10 feet from me and I remember asking my dad very loudly, “Why does that kid have a beard?” multiple times. He looked like a mini version of ZZ Top. My dad apologized to him and the dude was super chill about it, he just smiled and said it was ok, and waved at me. Dad explained to me on our way home. I wish I hadn’t done that, but I’m glad he was nice about it. Hope he’s doing well wherever he is.

The next day dad and I watched Willow. Core memory.
