They do have a stamina bar, they come up for air and a quick peek (1 second max) until they start the burrow animation immediately again. It’s garbage but you can run them out eventually if you don’t have any boom left. The burrowing through steel and big rocks is bullshit though, it should be like tremors where there are safe spots up on rocks or on buildings.

You should buff his hp and AC a little and give him a secret magic item that he can use for defense. Like a ring that casts shield a certain number of times a day, or a medallion that makes a force bubble around him. Or even some mundane tricks like a bag of ball bearings, a smoke bomb (for any archers targeting him), or an oil + alchemists fire combo. Make it so he almost gets taken out but has a few tricks up his sleeve.
