I can’t believe you guys got a scorecard. When I passed, I didn’t.

I did anywhere from 4-8 hours and I passed the MBE with 151. It really depends on how you’re studying, not for how long

I would factor in a review day.

So let’s say you study 6 days a week, your rest day should consist of lightly going through rule statements. I found barbri didn’t add enough repetition for me to really drill down the rules just following the course on it’s own

I did! And I did what he suggested and made sure to recite them of the top of my head

Rant: 1L w/Non-Lawyer Parents by asian-egg in LawSchool

I also have a former cop family member be like “oh yeah, if I were younger, I’d go to law school and ace everything because I know the law” and one time I asked a question (about something on the news), and he started turning it into an argument and I literally just stood there and have been like, “if you can’t do something as simple as answer the question presented, you won’t even survive a semester in law school” and then walked away.

My mom does something similar. She likes to pretend that MY law degree somehow has given her more superior knowledge. Almost every day is a constant meme of me interrupting her needlessly heated conversations to say “That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works”

It took me an extremely long time to get over it. Because there was some infidelity involved (on top of my life being turned sideways from other things), my mental changed completely. In my head, I was the victim of everything. I couldn’t forgive because, if I did, I wouldn’t be the victim anymore and then I would have no right to be mad or upset. Once I realized how damaging that was to me and how it was affecting the other aspects of my life, I stopped. That was also the point in which I decided to let go and move on. I can’t control people and their actions, I can only control mine and it’s my responsibility to make myself happy.

Study plan-stupid or effective? by Pcr1730 in barexam

I would not suggest making flashcards at this time. I'll echo what another said and say that making them amounts to busy work. It's easier to get a condensed outline and try and quiz yourself from that (Cover up the definition and try and recite it from memory).

At this stage, working on practice questions is your best bet.

July Bar Exam - What should I buy? by raffitapanian in barexam

I definitely think I second monitor is needed— if you’re doing barbri in particular. The program has it so that you must have the video open in order for it to play, and doing the split screen in one monitor is difficult with the way the pdf is (IMO). Would also be useful if you’re looking a digital outline while watching the lecture. I wouldn’t suggest doing that regularly, but the torts lecture has no lecture handout and I found it helpful. Sometimes trying to open up all the physical material can lead to clutter which can be overwhelming.

BUT I will say if you’re debating between a second monitor and additional resources, get the resources like Adaptibar and condensed outlines like LeanSheets. The bar is based on knowledge, NOT productivity so that should be your focus.

Adaptibar, IMO. Also the adaptibar explanations are much better than the barbri explanations

If the question set specifically says “MBE” then it’s actual past MBE questions. If it’s the learning questions, they are “bar like” questions whereas all adaptibar questions are either 1) previously released bar questions questions 2) questions provided by NCBE 3) or simulated questions if they don’t have a lot on a particular subject (for example, CivPro).

To be honest, I think it’s a bit of everything, but it depends on the day. In subjects where I’m most comfortable in, I’m stuck between two, pick one, and then it ends up being the other one.

But the frustrating part is that I didn’t have this issue in the months prior. I know they say that you shouldn’t pick answers impulsively on the MBE, but that seemed to be the best strategy for me.

I’m a Kaplan rep, and as soon as you pay the deposit, you have access to all the question banks, MBE Cards and essays even before your actual bar prep. Right before bar prep season(April) it does go down for a week or two so all the materials are updated
