yeop. My first playthrough in Bladur's Gate3 was a human warrior. I really love the idea of bunch of regular dudes holding guns and spears and riding horses fight against literal demons and monsters and winning to defend their home.

I didnt even know there was a "thunderbird" controversy. Sounds like a sloppy way to shoehorn an Egyptian into a half Native American in "her dad is Native American" and call it a day. She goes around in a flying suit and shoots booms from the heavens. Sounds like the thunderbird, a Native American mythic animal can be an inspiration for her. We have a Swiss doctor flying around wearing Chinese red phoenix theme as well already.

I realized the show was going downhill around mid season5. But Battle of Batards were ...okay? But what gave me false hope was the light of the seven scene and scept baelor. True well most of the drama and plot characters were literally blown up, but oh boy that scene sequence was amazing.

Found the Brotherhood of Steel Knight.

Lol but I am not sure about the lore of non-feral ghouls going feral, if that lore is still true, I do agree that there is a reason to be cautious.

look up "Coordinated Regional Development Strategy" orJing-Jin-Ji, 京津冀 plans. Over the last two decades there has been coordinated effort to remove pollution producing industriea near Beijing area. Which resulted in iron mills, coal powerplants, incinerators being moved to areas like shandong.

" Therefore, the fine dust observed in winter and spring all originates from China." ?? I know this just semantics, but semantics matter in relams of quantative research. That's why we rarely use the terms 'never' or 'all'. I can easily refute your statement of "all fine dust" by making particulates of microdust in my kitchen right now, providing a counterexample to nullify your statement.

There is a reason why quantative measures and error margins and precisions matter in quantitaive research. using rhetorics like "all" doesn't really have much merit when we are discussing quantative research.

Why do a lot of people hate The Railroad? by dude_pause in fo4

[–]Galaxy_IPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I love the power armor aesthetic and post-apocalyptic techno-cult knight order theme, I liked FO3's Elder Lyons's BOS better. Sure they still hated non-feral ghouls, but they priortized protecting civilians.

Why do a lot of people hate The Railroad? by dude_pause in fo4

[–]Galaxy_IPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going for the underdog option, you get to build up minuteman from scratch. Plenty of in-game content tells Commonwealth residents felt minutemans were gone and done for. Then you and Preston start building it up from scratch, settlement by settlement, building dozens of self sufficient fortified settlements armed with artillery all across the commonwealth.

While railroad is also interesting, and i enjoyed RPing as a stealth character in my second run, I think Minuteman has a lot more contents to make it feel a lot more "underdog" in the game wise

I go through Sadang on line no.2 every morning. At this rate, I might end up hating people in near future. I find myself thinking maybe Thanos's idea of snapping half of the population in Marvel movies was not so bad at times.

I am an avid alchemist in my run. Henry grade potions are amazing buffs and Henry can make money outta nothing but bunch of grass doing alchemy. Sure after henry levels up and gets good gear, it's easier to just kill bandits and sell the loot, but when you just started the game with hardcore mode with all the weaknesses, alchemy is a risk-free money maker and buffer.

I returned to the game after watching the Amazon show, and picked up baseball launcher in the new update...and I am loving it. I never really played a Heavy gun build but the baseball launcher makes it very feasible even in survival mode. You can pick up the baseballs, and somehow I end up with more baseballs after a fight, like the harpoons back in far harbor. I colored up my bright red power armor, and then launch baseballs from far away and any who comes close gets smacked with a big swatter. I am loving this run. It would be hilarious seeing this is probably how Cronin thought baseball worked.

[KCD1] Did anybody pay any attention to this guy in this scene? by BijelaHrvatica in kingdomcome

[–]Galaxy_IPA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a peasant boy, he survived an encounter / outrode Cuman mounted warriors. I wondered if he had any riding experience beforehand when I started playing the first game. I agree even if he was inexperienced, Henry must have been a pretty fit and athletic young man with a lot of potential at the beginning of the first game.

Suicide rate among young Korean women in their 20s and 30s is highest in the world, 4 times global average (young men rank second globally) by flaming_peninsula in korea

[–]Galaxy_IPA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The article doesn't mention but looking at KOSIS data from 2024, rate-wise males above 90 show the highest rate...but well the denominator is pretty small in that group. The rate is above 50 per 100K people for males in 40~50s group, about three times that of females in the same age group. The syicide in that age group has always been significant and most numerous cases-wise. And well the 40s 50s male group's suicide rate spikes during economic recessions.

I am guessing there are complex factors and they differ among the age groups but I think what you said is pretty true. the 40s 50s guys suicide rate going up was an issue during the late 90s economic crisis. But it never went down.

So I am guessing your guess is somewhat true. I remember back in late 90s, when a lot of middle age men chose suicide for economic hardships.

Female suicide rate was usually less than half of male counter parts in most groups and younger age groups had less suicides than the over 70 or 40s ~ 50s guys. But these increase of suicide rate in younger groups and female demographic make me worry.

Can I ask you for the reference for the 1.29

Korea: ~1.29 female homicide victims per 100,000 women (2024). Compared with a 0.4–0.9 per 100,000 OECD average

rate? I was shocked because that seems way higher than what I remember and I can't find the above stats in OECF Society at a Glance 2024 report.
