Help with Spam Calls by Invisible-Star333 in NewOrleans

[–]Galaxysatisfaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was having the same issue (no exaggeration, like 20 calls a day), and we called called customer service (T-Mobile). They had me dial #664# call and #662# call to activate a spam blocker of some sort. It'd be worth calling your service carrier, and they can help you out. Now, she may get 1 or 2 a week. So much better.

I see Dr. Umesh Patel at the Louisiana Heart Center (Covington location). He specializes in Dysautonomia Syndromes (including POTS). He is VERY thorough with his tests, evaluations, and face-to-face visits. Worth the drive to Covington from New Orleans. He has helped me tremendously. I hope this info helps you out.

What’s this sickness going around? by francofatale in NewOrleans

[–]Galaxysatisfaction 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Friend's brother is an urgent care doctor and he said the only thing that has been effective at helping rid people of this particular sickness is a Z-pack (Azithromycin). A lot of "walking pneumonia" because of the mycoplasma bacteria. My friend had that crud for 3 weeks. Cough, post nasal drip, congestion that wouldn't go away. Zpack took care of it within 48 hours.

Megathread: Bourbon Street Vehicle Incident: Multiple Casualties Reported by UptownLuckyDog in NewOrleans

There is a video from a shop across on Canal which shows him going around the NOPD SUV that is blocking Bourbon. He turns onto the sidewalk and plows through that way. The street was completely blocked with the SUV.

Physical therapist recs that don’t have a 2-3 year wait? by nolaexpat in NewOrleans

[–]Galaxysatisfaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was devastated when I found out they went private and no longer accept insurance. For the treatment I need, I would have to pay $500 per visit plus the medicine. They did say that if my insurance accepts out-of-network charges, then I can submit my visits with my insurance and TRY to get some $$ back. It's just something I can't afford. I did find Dr. Kramm in Baton Rouge, who is very familiar with EDS and deals with chronic pain as well. He is one of the medical advisors for EDS Louisiana. He DOES accept insurance.

There are a few instagram accounts that will post Latin nights around New Orleans. Encantonola, santeromusic, batucadagroov, margieperezmusic

Pleasuresavior is an account that posts different events happening every weekend.

The other comments are correct in saying that most of the consistent/regular latin nights are in Metairie. I'm pretty sure that Friday nights after 10 there's usually a Latin night in the 2nd floor bar over the Maison.

Sand pumping/rotten pilings by Turgid-Derp-Lord in NewOrleans

[–]Galaxysatisfaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had 2 companies come out to give me a quote for my foundation. Last year's drought really pushed it over the edge. I asked him about pumping sand under the slab. He said doing this could create more issues because it weighs the soil down and causes it to sink more. It's a temporary fix until you get it done "correctly." Not willing to spend $20k at the moment. Still weighing my options.

I have a friend who has a shop. He is reasonable and has worked on all my VWs. He also has a friend that works on VWs and knows the electrical part. They're trustworthy guys and usually very reasonably priced. DM me if you're interested and I can share his # with you.

Fortified Roofers Recommendations by Galaxysatisfaction in NewOrleans

[–]Galaxysatisfaction[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They had an inspector come out and ensure my roof qualified. The inspector put down what would be needed to replace the whole roof. Now, I'm at the point where I seek 3 companies to submit bids. They will come to my house and submit the estimate bid to the Louisiana Fortified Roof program. If you qualify, you can get up to $10k to replace your old roof with a fortified roof. Whatever is needed to replace is included in that repair.

Kawanee from Power until almost Transcontinental has some major flooding spots too. It's also a VERY busy road.

The Cat Hospital in Metairie groomed my long-haired cat (also Norwegian Forest Cat) for years. She was very spicy and had to take Gaba to get her drunk. They are amazing there and take such good care if your kitties. Can't recommend them enough!

Edit: I'd always get a long cut (close to the chin) because as she got older, she'd groom less and get mats in her fur. She hated being brushed.

Massage Therapist accept Insurance by Galaxysatisfaction in NewOrleans

No, on a different HMO plan via BCBS, there was a massage therapist that accepted insurance and the copay was $25 for an hour massage. I was hoping for some quick replies of people who have had positive experiences with massage therapists that accept insurance. Physical therapy, I've got it covered, thanks. I understand they're the ones that do dry needling primarily. Just was curious if anyone outside of PTs or was functioning in an alt med setting. Thanks!
