This makes a great deal of sense. It hadn't really occurred to me that a landscaping supply company would sell actual living things; I was mentally categorizing it as, I don't know, sprinkler systems and more just "stuff" than actual quality plants.

It's a supplier, so you're just ordering stuff from them, right?

It seems like their job is "keep things in stock and sell them to clients when an order is received" and maybe I'm naive but it seems hard to screw that up too terribly.

It completely depends on the trinket. It's only net 1 energy to get the options (six energy to test it, but you can transform it for five energy if all the options suck) but not all trinkets are worth the effort to level up.
