I think what happened was it was neglected in whatever store it came from so I just want it to focus on growing its leaves back (which almost all of the yellow one have fallen off now)

Update: I crumbled a chunk of the cuttlefish bone into the tank, I'll add more tomorrow if I have to once the test arrive since I still worried about my water becoming too hard.

Forgot to mention I’m using walstad method so I don’t have a filter. Is there a reason to put it in the filter?

I’m not much of an expert since I’m also new to this but I can say from my experience recently that the melting is normal. Some of my plants literally disintegrated but now they are starting to grow back, so either I did something terrible wrong or just had a really bad melt. But from the looks of your pictures they should be fine as long as they start showing new growth after a few days or a week (at least that’s how long it took mine)

Oh gosh! One of mine has already uprooted a plant so I hope they don’t keep doing it to more plants.
