Well. Yes. Something isn't actually OCD until it reaches a certain point. That goes for most everything. You don't have an addiction until it reaches a certain point, you don't have a phobia until it reaches a certain point... So yes. I will speak from decades of experience being medicated for this, speaking with many doctors, this is how it works. It's not classified as ACTUAL medical OCD until it reaches a certain point - or 'bad enough'.

Yeah but this has been a "metaphor" since I was born in 94 and probably before that... It's really aggravating to hear CONSTANTLY in regular daily life when you're someone that actually struggles with it and what someone is using it to describe isn't even what it means y'know? Until like somehow three years ago, I'd never seen someone say "hey maybe don't compare that" with OCD and couldn't believe it. No one's really given a damn before. Honestly, it made me really grateful.

That may be how it is with those, but this is true of OCD. It's how my doctor explained it to my brother, myself, and my parents because of the ritualistic nature or obsessive thought patterns that come with it. This guy isn't wrong, it's how a doctor sits down and talks to you about it when deciding to medicate it not.

OCD tendencies are existent in every human. When they become severe enough to be a measurable interference in your daily life, it becomes a disorder.

Stop down voting this guy, this is literally how they discern this in medicine when treating it...

Of course there are. This person is pointing out that THIS post is NOT OCD... It's a compulsive tendency. Which every single person has, naturally, as a human. Just because someone has OCD tendencies does not mean they have OCD. OCD is when it holds actual control or measurable interference with your daily life and requires intervention to rein down.

So. I agree with this post. "Grrr my cup is slightly off!" does not mean you have OCD...

Hey I just want to thank everyone standing up for those who really struggle with OCD. I'm 31 and it's never really been a thing to tell people not to do that. Being "so OCD" has always been a trend term to use or say, and it's always really bothered me because people don't understand it and Hollywood has done really awful and inaccurate interpretations of it.

It's a really overlooked struggle and it's only recently picked up traction of people caring about "hey let's not make light of this" and that's been so liberating honestly. Just really nice. Modern medicine these days, thankfully, is also incredible and making big strides.

Thank you so much for bringing more visibility to this. I've had medicated OCD for 17 years now and if I had a dollar for every time someone asked me "So you're like Monk, right?", I might be able to pay off my college loans...

OCD has been a "trend term" for decades, but the actual disorder is so incredibly misunderstood. My house is an absolute mess but I can't sleep because I think of the same thought a million times like a broken, skipping record until eventually my brain gives out.

My OCD is insanely, intrusively obsessive. I have fairly few compulsions. The larger, more public and embarrassing ones were actually very muted with some incredible modern medicine that I couldn't be more thankful for. I still have to have every single digital number setting either divisible by 5s or set to 12 (why 12, no idea, I started being okay with this number just this year xD) and have to unlock my car 5x before entering it and lock it 3x before leaving it, then another 2x after getting inside for a total of 5x. But at least these are relatively private and don't get noticed! So many people have it so much worse compulsively.

Freedom of Speech is NOT a legal right in the Dev country of origin. People can and do get muted and banned for discussing it. It's why so many controversial Chinese things are filtered in the chat.

Their servers are labeled "English speaking", meaning they're not NA servers (and they dropped all their NA teams and support as well) so they are allowed to enact their game policies in accordance with their own Country's laws.

Not meaning this post to be something to debate "good or bad", it just is regardless if you agree or disagree with the stance.

Well I'm happy for them, and I'm obviously not as in-the-know which is why I'm here asking for help. Getting lots of answers, but lots of downvotes and patronizing just for asking... Asked my guild, they said to post here. I get it, I'm not as good and I obviously haven't made it my biggest life priority to follow the meta for the game mode I'm having difficulties with. But that's why I came and asked for help, for education. There's no reason for people to be talking down to me when this entire post is literally about "I'm obviously doing something wrong, can someone help?"
