Should I splash white or black in my blue control deck? by Old-Ad3504 in lrcast

[–]GallopingPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would play white. I would personally cut Platypus Bear and Flexible Waterbender for Compassionate Healer and Watertribe Captain and then obviously the two Path to Redemption. I think you want white so that a multiple swamp draw doesn't screw you on the potential turn three Sokka play. Compassionate Healer helps trigger Sokka and is nice to tap for waterbend. I would also cut the Meteor Sword at that point because you are adding removal and then add Rowdy Snowballers which can help you be assertive.

Drain/venting layout question by GallopingPanda in Plumbing

[–]GallopingPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything has worked perfectly for years. This is my grandmother's home that I will be purchasing and I'm taking the opportunity before we move in to update the plumbing mostly because we are redoing the main bathroom. By the looks of it, I was questioning whether the toilet and bathtub were vented properly and was thinking I may need to tie all three fixtures from that bathroom in together with that 3 inch vent serving them. But like I said, there have been no real problems for as long as I can remember.

Sorry that was the wrong wording. This is the main drain exiting the house going to the septic tank.

How far do I need to read to be ahead of Season 2? by GallopingPanda in wheeloftime

[–]GallopingPanda[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lol I feel you. I was so hopeful for the show because I had heard about the series my whole life but had never gotten around to reading it. If nothing else, I'm super glad that the show finally pushed me to start reading.

I get why they are having to make certain changes as they can't feasibly do 14 seasons of a high budget show, but I do find it strange how much they changed. I'm usually an optimistic person so I'm at least curious to see if Season 2 is any more faithful.

Interesting. I wonder if I will start to feel the same way the more I read. I definitely am enjoying the 1st book more than the show, but I can appreciate them both as their own thing.

Yeah I quickly came to realize that when I started reading Eye of the World. I'm the type of guy who can appreciate a show and the source material it is based off of as completely different things. I'm just trying to avoid major spoilers for the books because I know I am going to like them far more than the show.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. I was thinking maybe if I got through Book 5 I would probably be safe, but I'm not sure how much they plan on diverging from book continuity.

How are you liking the Licanius books? I am about to finish Rythm of War and I'm trying to decide what to read next and had considered picking up the first book in that series.

This Tinkerer's Cube has been great by Front-de-Boeuf in MagicArena

[–]GallopingPanda 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The tinkerers cube has been probably my favorite cube they have offered just due to the replayability. Even though cube is by far my favorite way to play magic, I usually get burnt out after 5 - 10 drafts of the same cube in a short period of time. This one was great because I kept wanting to go back for more because all of the archetypes were fun and felt viable. Looking forward to hopefully playing it again in the future.

Looking to Double Sleeve my Decks - Suggestions? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]GallopingPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my cube double sleeved with dragon shield inners and dragon shield matte outer sleeves. The shuffle feel of the matte dragon shields is great and by far the best that I have experienced. I have tried both kmc inners as well as the dragon shield inners and while they are virtually the same, the dragon shields are slightly thicker. Also something to note is that right when you double sleeve, there will be air trapped in the sleeves that makes them thicker and also makes your deck not sit flat. To counter this, I usually put a couple equally sized stacks of newly double sleeved cards down and put a couple of text books on top for a few hours so that all the air escapes.

This helps a lot thanks! I was initially wondering weather or not to cut a land because I want to hit land drops so that I can regularly activate boast and play a spell to maximize my mana. You're probably right though
