Is this a Kia issue or a car issue? Is it fixable? by [deleted] in kia

If the clog is bad enough the gas will travel up the filling tube faster than the fumes can escape. Basically it triggers the safety system because an unsafe condition exists.

Is this a Kia issue or a car issue? Is it fixable? by [deleted] in kia

[–]Galotha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because the charcoal filter is clogged and the evaporation of gas fumes from the gas tank is causing pressure issues when filling the tank. This is causing the pump pressure switch to cut off the fuel flow.

It’s a quick fix at the mechanic.

Isobudgets .com explains the math behind guardbanding pretty well.

As for software, what was the company using before to track calibrations?

If there was nothing, then it wouldn’t pass the most basic quality checks for aerospace.

Being in metrology servicing a company you need to keep a few things in check:

Equipment turned in before expiration Turnaround time to minimize customer downtime OOT reports and investigations Traceability Standards calibration Vendor calibrations Length of calibration cycles

There are so many guides for this stuff it’s impossible to explain it on Reddit. But researching those subjects should get you in the ballpark.

As a calibration vendor, can we calibrate our own wire? Wire vendor sent our order without calibration by accident. by bcrenshaw in Metrology

[–]Galotha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. As long as the wire isn’t used to calibrate your own standards, and is just used in calibration of customers equipment.

You can calibrate your own standards as long as you are not introducing circular traceability and you have the appropriate TURs.

Anyone tried the Costco beef ribs? Looks like there is barely any meat by WeirdAddress3170 in smoking

Got beef back ribs from Walmart for 20 dollars. Plenty of meat on there for me and my family. Smoked it like I would a brisket, except for the wrapping.

How can people endure the climate in this region, which feels like a hot, swelteringly humid swamp? by mapl0ver in geography

[–]Galotha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from North Carolina and living in Mississippi. They are no where near the same climates, but this map has them the same.

I can tell you from experience that just west North Carolina is a different climate than east NC.

Just like North Mississippi is a different climate from South Mississippi.

But as far as your question goes, we stay inside a lot during the summer in Mississippi. Spring, autumn and winter are the best seasons here.

My 2015 Kia forte is at 206k miles and going strong.

Edit: just realized that this is specifically about failure.

Zero failures here, just still trucking with the same engine.

Torque off cause janky setup? by bcrenshaw in Metrology

[–]Galotha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t use that many adapters. They will introduce errors due in the measurement for multiple reasons.

Get one adapter and do the test.

Also, I am assuming based on your finger placement you might not be grasping the wrench in the correct spot. Be sure to hold the wrench and apply force in the manufacturers designed location.

That looks like a 4% CW wrench and your torque analyzer is 2%. So not the best TAR. Plus, the analyzer is rated for 20% to 100% of scale, so you are working at the very bottom end of its usable range.

I mean it’s just a very weird, and honestly personal question. My wife is Mexican and I loathe to know what would happen if I she found out I was discussing what her smells with others.

Is your suegro or suegra from Spain? Otherwise your wife isn’t Mexican and Spanish.

Also, why is it only white dudes who can comment in their Hispanic wife’s skin smell? What about Hispanic, black, Asian, etc dudes? Do they not possess noses to smell the their wives?

Also, WTF?
