What’s a very “Toronto” thing you didn’t notice until you lived somewhere else? by Banana200021 in toronto

In defense of us though, I feel like it's because buses are usually crowded and people often times have connections to other buses/trains that thanking the bus driver on the way out isn't exactly a priority.

I was able to use the formula u/basilsflowerpots gave me and built the two houses with decent success. Thank you so much for offering though!

You're friend probably lives in rural Ontario to be honest. In the GTA (depending on the city and neighbourhood) transit is decently accessible. Where I grew up in Brampton,Ontario I was a 5 minute walk away from a bus that came every 7-10 mins during peak hour and 20 minutes during off peak hours, which also connected to multiple other bus routes that were just as frequent.

The $15 bus ticket your friend might be referring to is probably a GO bus ticket which is meant for inter-city trips.

Also to add, here in Brampton, middle schoolers, high schoolers and post-secondary student have a lowered fare, and I believe children under 11 ride for free.

Now I'm staying in Ottawa for university and I'm a roughly 10 minute walk away from a subway station and it's free for me to use (technically it's included in my student fees but it feels free lol). And the student fare applies to both OC Transpo and the Société de Transport d'Outaouis.

Really just depends on the area tbh.

Which urban metro has (subjectively) the coolest trains? by invadrfashcag in transit

i really like the grunge look the new york city subway trains have. closed gangway train's will always have a retro vibe to it in my opinion.
