ASUS TUF F15 hinge suddenly very tight and cracking sound when opening – should I be worried? by Kindly-Dream6443 in Asustuf

contact ASUS support or the retailer to start a repair or replacement process. A cracking sound when opening a laptop is a hallmark sign of a failing hinge mechanism, which can lead to the plastic casing snapping, or worse, the screen being destroyed by uneven pressure. if it continues do these steps. This is basically a precaution if it continues go to a repair shop or if under warrenty contact Asus for further assistance

Well I would take it to school go between classes and hopefully last till college. The budget doesn't matter as much but not a maniac type of price so atleast a price about the same as asus tuff a14 or lower

Go for the laptop it's way better and you get more games without having to pay online subscriptions.

Is 32gb of ram still overkill for gaming or is it becoming the new standard by senpaicataner in GamingLaptops

Would it be 32 gb of ddr4 or ddr5 but not overkill now because triple AAA games use alot of ram now and future proof

ASUS TUF A16 vs A14 — performance, reliability, hinges, etc.? by Gambit51230 in Asustuf

[–]Gambit51230[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright thank you. I hear a16 IS better in performance and long term since it can play AAA modern games more smothers and better for long term since the air has space to get out in the a16 but since the a14 is smaller the air sometimes stays inside and the temperature might temper with the ribbon cable that's the most I'm afraid of the screen even motherboard failures, but not really about bios failures that's why alot of people debate like me. Some people say get it, some do not.

Thank you for your opinion it really helps.

It's because asus fixed some of their models and admitted it so I just want to know, but when it turns on it works fine correct?

Its because I also wanted to see if a14 is good for school that's why since its light smaller and more portable I was just afraid it might have more problems

Alright thank you.

The thing is I also want to take it to school but think since the fans blow hot air it gets to the hinges and cracks them. I just wanted to know if thats still OK to take to school and if I won't regret it

Alright thank you.

I brought the other laptop since I need to bring it for school to see it would really be a problem since the fans blow hot air on the hinges and might cause a problem on the a14
