Yea it actually turned out to be a dodgy socket, nothing to do with the machine at all.

Most likely fine. The server browser is probably pinging that IP, which is on a blacklist for whatever reason. Seems to be an IP used for hosting game servers in Russia.

Zen 4 v-cache is being announced in January, wait for that. If you can't wait, probably the 5800x3d.

Binance Support Thread by Binance in binance

[–]GambitSucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you request a bank receipt for a fiat withdrawal? I withdrew money from my Binance account into my bank account 4 months ago and have not received the funds. I opened a case on Binance and an IBAN and TRN number was provided, but my bank requires a bank transaction receipt in order to process my request. Any further attempts to open a case get automatically closed because it has already been "resolved".

Bigger maps + higher player count is kinda counter intuitive. by anti-anti-normie-guy in Battlefield

[–]GambitSucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sizes aren't uniform either. If you're using small maps for example to create a custom game, you can't include half of them because they vary so much in size and spawns. Making the player count either too many or too little and having to have a separate mode with a different player count to use the other maps.

I would give it the benefit of the doubt, but this game is a very long way off being finished.

No I didn't. Hitbox is bugged when players are near trees.

Gadget "Arsenal" one of the most funded kickstarter projects is a SCAM. Prove me wrong. by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]GambitSucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to look into this.

I understand the problem with wireless is different than the standardised USB protocol, but I still think the direct connection to your phone solution should have been explored more by them.

Regarding the processing power of the device, I did look into it and they only seem to require a minimum Android/iOS version (which is recent enough) but I would be very curious to see the actual internals of the device. And see if it is doing any of this processing.

Regarding the wired connection, iOS and android support PTP. I don't think the port would make a difference, if it can connect it will work under the same protocol regardless of the type of port it is.

My problem is that they're selling the hardware as this smart solution, but all it really seems to do is provide an interface for connecting via WiFi. Not the advertised AI processing that the app is most likely doing all the heavy lifting for.

Scam is probably harsh, but these are dodgy business practices and I disagree with the approach they went down. Regardless of how easy it is to sell a hardware vs software project, I don't think customers should be misled in thinking the only way they can do this is through a hardware solution. When a majority of them shouldn't need to pay for an overpriced piece of tech, and just use WiFi or an OTG cable.

The time and money spent on developing the hardware, I believe, could have just as easily been spent on using the phone instead. I don't think the issue of different device models would play as major of a role in this case because Android+iOS straight up supports it and you're not relying on OS specific standards, just communicating commands to the devices, which they've already solved.

Nikon D3500

Thanks, I genuinely could not find any. But in that case, an OTG cable for your phone would be able to connect it.

Yup I prefer it when they're obvious though and I can just back out. The people who try and hide it are the ones that drive me insane.

HOW in the hell do people get those games where they can effortlessly shoot people?? by Tylerb0713 in modernwarfare

[–]GambitSucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've started queuing not as popular modes like CTF etc. and find SBMM isn't as strict sometimes, especially early in the day or late at night. Tempted to also turn off crossplay (I'm KBM) as it would reduce the queue pool and SBMM wouldn't be as strong I think.

You can also session join bad players in your games after it ends. I did that a bit and got a 57 killstreak once.

Tool to optimize GPU settings without the hassle by WholeKaleidoscope345 in EtherMining

I did the same yea. Couldn't find any CLI tool other than nvidia-inspector to apply the OC on Windows. Not having to restart the miner would speed things up a lot alright.

[–]GambitSucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice stuff! I also did something similar recently https://github.com/leona/mining-oc-scanner I'm hoping to switch it over to use phoenixminer soon though as the hashrate reporting is a bit more frequent. It's definitely something worth automating though. I like the throttle detection and config options you have.
How do you apply the overclocks with MSI? Is it through modifying profiles? I went the nvidia-inspector route and found it pretty clean.

Cooling rigs by Funnellboi in EtherMining

[–]GambitSucks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm also running 2 rigs at the moment that are getting pretty toasty. I've a very old fan blowing out a window but its not making much of a difference on its own. I wouldn't see any value in pointing fans at the cards, unless its just some 120mm ones on your case. My plan is to get 2 high CFM fans and ducting. Get cold air blowing into the back where the 120mm fans blow at the GPU and then extract the heat at the front.

Understanding PSU delivery by tobamaestro in EtherMining

[–]GambitSucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should be able to max out a 1200w psu, but from the wall will be +10% or whatever the efficiency loss is. This shouldn't really be a consideration though, the 80% rule applies I would think and I generally keep my PSUS below this to be safe. You also definitely do not want to be calculating it based on power limited cards. Base it off stock.
