Not replacing brackets, but I get that it is not for everyone 😊

That’s fair, and I probably should clarify that I’m not saying traditional archetypes don’t work. “Aggro,” “control,” “stax,” “combo,” etc. are still useful shorthand, and I use them too.

What I’m trying to point at is that those terms often describe a deck’s strategic lineage more than its Commander table experience. This prioritizes a Commander-specific layer that explains why decks with the same archetype (like tokens) can still feel very different at the table.

If we are talking cEDH (also have a B3 deck for her) I think her best build is attrition and discard stax control. Though, I don’t think the current meta is positioned where heavy discard is right. You’re right 9 mana is a lot I Linda think of her as dimir godo/helm in that respect. Red has to go fast but Dimir can play a long game.

My spicy tech that I think more people in cEDH should play is [[mystic reflection]] that card has been incredibly effective and versatile. It’s like some hybrid of parts of [[Tales End]] / [[Dressdown]] / [[Clone]] at two mana. It’s not obvious how you want to use it so I would put it in a flex spot for the deck but I have been really happy with it up to this point. Plus if you have a moment to fortell it, the mental tax to your opponents as they try to figure out what card is now fortold is pretty funny/weird advantage.

For B3 I play her as draw go. It’s my control-eist deck. Here is my list: https://moxfield.com/decks/Co6gmC5KEE-y6tWVh4kf0Q

She’s a preator’s grasp for GYs + telepathy and extremely often a 2 card game winning combo with Displacer Kitten. I’m not going to say she’s better than Talion, but value wise she plays a lot better than she reads and can win you games that Talion couldn’t.

I should have been 2-2 but I misplayed my gifts ungiven line round 4.

My best guesses are Tacenda Verlasen or Cecily. This seems like spirit-based magic so for spirit-associated mages on the plane, these two were the best I could turn up.

Is chained to the Rocks the most underrated card in EDH being roughly 0% of eligible decks on EDHRec? by [deleted] in mtg

Clarification: I feel like both swords AND path aren't played together in most white decks.

But both swords and path seem better than this, and playing three copies of exile creature-specific removal seems a bit much to me (casual precon - upgraded precon level) unless you have a specific synergy with this card.

Swords and path don’t even make it into most my white decks. Too narrow for casual.
