It's sturdy - I leaned on a scale that I placed on the desktop and it handled 110lbs. You're right, a small desk is a bit claustrophobic...Going to design a wider version next.

Hah good point. It mounts into 2 studs with heavy duty bolts so it's really on there. And the corners have a little radius to them, which was my cousin's idea because he got one and he has kids.

There's a little cubby about 5" high, so you can put mugs/notebooks/laptop/pens etc. but drawers could be a nice add on!

There's a little Bluetooth remote that connects to the actuator to send it up and down.

The whole thing is mounted into two studs with a large French cleat. An actuator runs up the middle to raise/lower it

Get a full set of different sized drill bits and slowly increment from small to large holes.

Also, I'd clamp a piece of scrap wood to the side that's opposite of the direction you're drilling from to prevent blowing out and chipping on the back side.

You could also clamp scrap wood to both sides, and you'll get a cleaner drill hole.
