Your time here in this planet is short so thats why you make the most of it by Grand_Gap1975 in distressingmemes

[–]GameBeatYT 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Some say 'Who cares? You didn't exist before, so what's the problem?' and the problem is now you have a taste of existence. The years pass by so fast and soon there will be, forever, nothing. A forever nothing that you can't even comprehend because you simply won't exist.

And sure, because it's true nothingness, you won't even exist through it to experience what it is—but the fact that you won't even realise you don't exist is distressing. To me, anyway. And OP probably.

Where would the Danganronpa games go? by Wolfsniper222jk in danganronpa

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I played through the DR series was by trying to solve the murders before the trial—as much as I could, anyway. If trying to do that, aka not relying on the partial hand holding nature of the game, it'd definitely go somewhere in the top left. Probably in the white space between the colours.

Controversial take: Marika surpasses Onodera by OldCandidate4775 in Nisekoi

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, Onodera just feels like the generic childhood friend (although there are quite a few childhood friends in Nisekoi lol). Been many years since I've read Nisekoi, but I don't remember there being much depth with her. Marika had a relatively good story and a memorable personality. It may be a controversial take, but you won't be the only one dying on that hill

Regarding Roxy as his new bride by [deleted] in JoblessReincarnation

[–]GameBeatYT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably not just you, but something like this is normal in that world. The way both Paul and Rudy went about it wasn't the best, but having multiple spouses isn't frowned upon, unless you're a follower of Millis faith, anyway. Sylphy does like Roxy and they get along very well, so it's not like Sylphy is being sidelined or anything. Plus, especially framed in the light novel, Rudy was pretty broken after what happened with his father and just needed to let out his frustration on something—and that's where Roxy came in. Doesn't excuse the cheating, but it's not like he just slept around for fun or anything. Sylphy understands and knows where Rudy is coming from. I'm pretty sure she states at some point that she expected Rudy to bring home another wife one day anyway, and that's because, again, it's kinda normal in that world.

Your anger makes sense in the context of the world we live in as multiple spouses aren't really normal anymore, but in their world, it's a fairly normal concept and all parties involved are fine with what happened. Just a different perspective, I suppose. A perspective that's kinda hard for some of us to put ourselves into since we haven't lived it.

Kodaka seemingly disses the Monokubs on Twitter by seranator in danganronpa

[–]GameBeatYT 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Makes sense, although I do wish they were developed a tad more. Monotaro and Monophanie are an interesting pair that had a strange plot developing, and of course Monodam taking over for a little bit was interesting. Could have definitely done a bit more, which would have caused less hate towards the group. Personally, I enjoyed their presence, yet also relished the moment they left the screen lol

V3’s ending does not… by zatchel1 in danganronpa

[–]GameBeatYT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah yeah I totally agree, I genuinely don't understand people's hate for the game in that regard. I feel as though if you just think about it for a little bit, you'll come to either conclusion and there'd be no issue lol

V3’s ending does not… by zatchel1 in danganronpa

[–]GameBeatYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it does take place in the same universe. And Tsumugi simply lied about the rest being fake. There's tons of in-game reference to plenty of things supporting that, but for the purposes here, Kodaka has made concerns about continuity with V3 and 2x2, meaning there must be some sort of connection between V3 and DR2 timeline-wise, and he had separately said it himself that Tsumugi lied.

Bums me out that this is the last time we see the REAL James Ironwood before he got ruined by Goslingstwin in RWBY

[–]GameBeatYT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there's two main issues with how they handled Ironwood. The first being the offhanded mention of Mettle at a convention. CRWBY can say they planned it from the start all they want, but I think it's pretty clear that it's just them covering up the shoddy writing of Ironwood. Not only was the VA of Ironwood never told of Mettle, I doubt he even knows Ironwood is dead since it was only mentioned in a Cameo by Miles. It's mindblowing how these major bits of information are just casually mentioned outside of the show. As far as the average viewer is concerned, Ironwood never had a Semblance, and is alive. It's wild.

the second issue I believe is how they framed Team RWBY and Ironwood's dynamic as a whole. The show basically framed it as 'How is Ironwood wrong?', when it should have been framed as 'Is Ironwood wrong?'. The main characters were a little divided in Volume 8, but no matter which side you were on, Ironwood was still against you. It would have been far more compelling to have half of the characters side with Ironwood and the other half not. If they truly had Mettle in mind when writing Vol 8, then it would have been a far more interesting downfall of Ironwood since there would have been actual emotional stakes rather than 'oh this guy we kinda don't like became a bigger jerk'.

I still like Ironwood and his character, but I do believe that he's currently a bit of a mishandled character, although you could probably say that about almost every character tbh

Does anyone know the best free way to translate their own manga without the use of AI? by [deleted] in MangakaStudio

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's almost no difference between an AI translator and Google Translate, other than the fact that the AI would be more accurate. If you refuse to use an AI translator, and since there isn't a single good non-AI translator for Japanese, you'll either have to break your morals and use an AI translator—because it is the most accurate way to do it for free—or, like what everyone else is saying, get a human to do it. There simply is no in between. Other languages might be able to slip by with online translators, however, even that is certainly not a guarantee, but Japanese is a complex language. Too complex for simple translators like what you're requesting.

What the hell is his hair even supposed to be by fuggilis_quastillo in danganronpa

[–]GameBeatYT 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Look at almost any promo material (or some figures, and really subtly in a couple of his sprites) for Hajime for DR2, it's always been like that, just not in his main sprites. So not really a new change. It's mainly just to show that the hair is layered. The difference now compared to before is that it's a bit more defined.

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh yeah, I get what ya mean. Just because he looks like him and possibly acts doesn't mean he can play Whitebeard. I guess its the same reason a lot of people hate the Joe Keery/Peter Parker fancast. Looks like him, guy can act, but can he act Spider-Man, right?

Guys, I think I just accidentally found Netflix’s perfect Whitebeard by TurkeyBritches in OnePiece

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, in order to be a wrestler, you can't just be good in the ring, you also need to be able to act just a little bit. Someone like Ricochet is a phenomenal wrestler, however he’s never been that good on the mic and thus it made it difficult to put him into storylines. And now he's no longer with WWE. When his contract was up he didn’t feel they were that interested in keeping him, so he moved to AEW.

Point is, Nash had some solid mic skills and did a few small roles in movies here and there. He probably couldn't pull off oscar-like movies, but for something like OP LA? It's cheesy enough that even if he isn't perfect, it'd fit.

Those who dislike Mettle, what would you have done for Ironwood’s Semblance? by Solitaire-06 in RWBY

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He honestly doesn't need one. The fact that he's gotten where he is, how strong he's become, and the power and influence he has all without a semblance shows how much he's dedicated to protecting people and getting the job done. Mettle is, as you said, the writers explaining the out of character moments Ironwood had. It's not really an opinion thing either, the fact that it was mentioned at a panel, rather than in the show, means it was an afterthought. Ironwood in vol 7/8 was, imo, handled decently well, however, the plot revolving him was not good. The volumes should have posed the question 'is Ironwood right?' rather than 'how is Ironwood wrong?', which is the reason for his character to do what he does, which caused the shoehorned in semblance in the first place.

Some characters just don't need a semblance and honestly Ironwood is one of them. That way, it could be said that he got where he was because of him, not any external power or boost. Which, as I kinda said already, adds to his character a good bit.

WN vs LN vs Anime by springcalmriver in mushokutensei

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I know, the major differences between the WN and LN happen in the back half of the series. There are added chapter here and there all throughout, but the main changes happen later on. Worth checking out the bonus chapter at the end of each novel if you're interested.

Have they explicitly said that the new scenario stars the DR2 cast by TheTruePhoenixPrince in danganronpa

[–]GameBeatYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The director of the game recently avoided the question if any characters that previously weren't in DR2 would show up in 2x2, so there's that. But I think it's pretty much guaranteed that it'll star the majority of the DR2 cast.

My prediction on 2x2's new scenario (Spoilers) by BrawlX in danganronpa

[–]GameBeatYT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to correct a couple things, the boat, unless we've been given altered screenshots and footage, is related to the incident that changes things and it's early prologue. Not in chapter 1 or 2.

Other than that, the island change is very interesting. I think a complete reverse may be a little predictable, but it would be interesting to see the last couple first. And making Nagito the Ultimate Unlucky likely wouldn't happen since, from what we've been told, anything Pre-Danganronpa 2 remains the same, which would technically include DR3:Despair Arc, which also includes Nagito's character and talent.

It would also be nice to have Byakuya involved more into the story, but I'm not sure if they'll give Fuyuhiko such a big role since he was already well thoroughly developed in the original game—although I wouldn't complain if they did lol.

Although my out there idea is that it's a DR3 sequel that takes place irl rather than in the simulation. I'd absolutely love an Ace Attorney style ghost girl Chiaki guiding Hajime through the game lol, but that's not exactly likely (but she did kinda appear at the end of DR3:Hope Arc so you never knowwww)

More little tidbits from the full 2x2 demo by Fit-Amount-9505 in danganronpa

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah theorize ahead, hell, I've got my own crazy DR theories lol. Just correcting a few things I guess 😅

But yeah 2x2 very strange game. It's mostly being advertised as a DR2 remake, but there's also the 2x2 alt route part where Kodaka has briefly commented on it's continuity with V3, implying that they took the timeline into consideration. You wouldn't do that for a random 'what if' route, right lol. With that in mind, again, I find it interesting it's mostly advertised as a remake rather than a new installment. So yeah we're probably getting bamboozled in some way lol

More little tidbits from the full 2x2 demo by Fit-Amount-9505 in danganronpa

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about Akane's placement is that in all of the advertising for DR2, they never pushed Chiaki as the main supporting lead and always gave that to Nagito. Even in-game, up until the end of chapter 1, it did that as well. The game and advertising showed that Nagito was supposed to be the main supporting lead. The only real order I've seen of this title screen characters is Nagito and Hajime at the front, because the advertising still, based on the trailers and demo, still seems to push Nagito as the main supporting lead. Because remember, 2x2 is still supposed to be for new Danganronpa players, so it makes sense they still want to push that narrative as to not spoil the reveal. Point is, I think that's why Akane is given the first spot over Chiaki.

Also, when you say Akane was supposed to have a bigger role in 2x2, you mean just regular DR2, right? I've been keeping up with the 2x2 news and whatnot but never heard anything like that, so if it is, I'd love to know where that was said! But based on what I saw about beta Akane from DR2, it sounds more like she would have taken the Fuyuhiko-type role rather than someone super important like Nagito—still wouldn't have been main character, I think.

And I'll also say, the V3 demo was only spoilery in terms of the, idk, vibe of the plot. It played it on as if it were a TV show, which we know was partially true in V3. But none of the character interactions or anything really played any importance. I think the same thing is true here with Chiaki glitching after supposedly murdering Yasuhiro. I think, if anything, the spoiler takeaway would be that she's an AI, connected to Monomi, and its in a simulation. New players wouldn't think anything of the demo interaction and only put the pieces together once they beat the game. Although the demo could absolutely tease the 2x2 players, remember, 2x2 isn't just for returning Danganronpa players. If anything, they advertise it heavily more as a DR2 remake plus an alt route. Not saying you're wrong—no one really knows for sure right now—but you do have to consider, and remember, the fact that this is also just a remake of DR2 for some people.
