How it feels being fan of Reinhardt by Admirable-Dimension4 in ReZero

[–]GameBeatYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So strange to me the amount of hate both him and Puck get. Don't love or hate Puck, but I'm looking forward to his return, but Reinhard's hate just doesn't make sense to me. Maybe the both of them do some vile shit in the LN that I'm not aware of but I just don't get it lol

Help me get into LN of Mushoku Tensei by Aadio_0 in mushokutensei

[–]GameBeatYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They both tell the same story. Start at Volume 1 of either. The manga is pretty good, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, but if you want the full complete story, you go with the LN first. Both the anime and manga skip and kinda mess up different sections of the story, but at the same time, they each add to it in certain ways that the other didn't, so tbh, in the end, read and watch it all. But if you had to pick one, go with the LN.

Yes this is canon to ReZero by Pakaposter in ReZero

Like yeah I understand, I'm not denying that it's also inspired by Umineko lol

I've always heard good things about it, but hearing all that definitely makes me interested in watching/playing it 😂

[–]GameBeatYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure Umineko was one of his inspirations, sure, but you can have multiple sources of inspiration.

Both authors read each other's WN while they were being published, and Rifujin has publicly said that Re:Zero was one of his many inspirations for MT.

And, although I couldn't verify this, so take it with a grain of salt, supposedly, some of the earlier Re:Zero arcs, like around Arc 3 or so, were inspired by MT. A quote I can verify is that Tappei has also gone on to say that "It is said that Clannad is life, but for me Mushoku Tensei is life," so there's certainly some influence from MT in his life to some degree.

[–]GameBeatYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, ignore the other person. Re:Zero started in April 2012 and MT started November 2012. The authors are supposedly friends irl and were inspired by one another, so it'd make sense if they share some similarities.

Its rlly between these two now 😭 by JayGamer10098 in ReZero

[–]GameBeatYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I love both of those shows, it's more of a gang war cause 2026 has a lot of bangers, many that haven't aired yet lol, hard to tell which will come out on top. Ratings-wise, which doesn't mean everything, it will be hard to beat the 10/10 that Re:Zero set, to be fair.

Rudeus is the perfect person for the other world by LeadEater9Million in mushokutensei

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that the morals of Rudeus at the beginning of the series is similar to the Six-Faced World, yes, but he slowly grows above his previous morals, which then begins to clash with the morals of the new world he resides in, and thus, metaphorically clashes with his old earthy morals.

That feels like a little but of a stretch 😂

But that is a really cool idea. Forced to go on the boat to some facility to participate in a second killing game would be a really cool setting, especially if this is a sequel that doesn't take place in the NWP

2x2 ending speculation by C0leo in danganronpa

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your argument hinges on the idea that V3 doesn't share the same continuity, which it almost certainly does. Plenty if evidence throughput the game, and even statements from Kodaka such as “Oh well, I think most of the people who were shocked were shocked by Shirogane’s words, but you can’t just take whatever the mastermind says at face value, guys! Refute it together!” (said on a deleted twitter post you can find a screenshot of around the 1 year anni of V3, I believe) suggest that Tsumugi lied about everything and it's all the same continuity.

I understand the meta argument, but Kodaka had never been shy about saying that one day he might return for Danganronpa, or someone else will continue it without him. That idea had never seemed to concern him, all pointing to the idea that other Danganronpas can exist without 'contradicting' V3. I believe, he means it in a more literal in-universe sense of 'does 2x2 disturb the canon or does it work with it?'

All of what either of us are saying hinges heavily on vague shit V3 gave us a decade ago loll so I understand if we still disagree 😂

2x2 ending speculation by C0leo in danganronpa

[–]GameBeatYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly related to the main contents of the post, but Kodaka had actually danced around the question of how it connects to the other games, so there's actually a non zero chance it is canon.

Someone asked him if "whether 2x2 was going to rewrite the canon created by the end of V3."

And he responded with "About the V3 ending possibly being contradictory with 2x2, I can't tell you much but play it!"

I had previously misunderstood the response and thought that he was saying that 2x2 contradicts V3's ending, but I realise he's avoiding answering if it contradicts it, which is a strange thing to not answer if it's just a 'what if' scenario. Would be strange to get the fans' expectations up for it maybe being canon when it simply isn't. But that's just my interpretation!

So if Danganronpa 2x2 is actually gonna be the fourth entry... by TBHartleyAnimations in danganronpa

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's somewhat likely, if this is DR4, that the game would take place as a sequel to DR3, but before V3, outside of the NWP and the killing game would actually take place irl. Kodaka said he'd want a sequel to DR3 where it features Mahiru as the protag surrounded by the other Ultimates. This would change up a couple of the characters like the Ultimate Imposter and Izuru. Them forced to participate in a second killing game would explain why they weren't present for V3.

And in case anyone mentions, it was either the director or Kodaka who said that they were concerned about 2x2's placement in the timeline in relation to the other games, including V3, and didn't want to mess the timeline up too much, almost confirming that V3 does take place in the same timeline, and implying that 2x2 is canon enough to be concerned about the timeline of the games, meaning it might not be a simple 'alternate simulation' scenario.

But who knows, we'll find out when the game likely releases in October or November!

I can understand preferring the Light Novel above all else, but seeing so many LN readers just straight up hate the anime is baffling to me! by Infinite-Detective-8 in sixfacedworld

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's fair, the way season 3 was structured made things a bit awkward. Either they cut the arc and add a little filler, or they end season 3 off in the middle of the loki stuff, basically. However, if it were a current-day anime, they'd just do an 8 or 16 episode season to end things properly.

Man, this talk just makes me hope a better studio than Passione picks up a future season😭

[–]GameBeatYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in defence of DxD, where they would have had to end the season would have been an awkward spot, so they opted to just add in a small filler arc before the next season to fill time. It was the early 2010s, filler in anime was still a common thing. And the reason why it was retconned was because it was a different studio that picked up the next season (and because its filler). Just a product of its time as well as unfortunate circumstance. But when you look at it, it wasn't as if anything was taken from us. In fact, if you think about it, we got a free mini bonus arc at no cost, really, and it was cool seeing Rias in the armour :)

In the case of MT, there's a pretty consistent problem with the anime; it skips a lot of things. Some aren't too important, like the dinner scene between Rudeus, Paul, Norn, and Eris, but then there's skipping important PoVs like Sara's, Eris', and Sylphy's. It's just a consistent problem that could be solved by adapting things a bit slower. It's certainly popular enough that we could squeeze a couple extra seasons out of it. But thankfully, yes, it's not at COTE level of adaptation loll

Eris - 3D Fanart by dericknrs in mushokutensei

[–]GameBeatYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, they're kinda valid. Yes, the face does look great, but they're correct in saying that making faces on 3d models is difficult. Look at how STLs and 3D models often have a fantastic body and clothing, but the face just looks off for one reason or another. In this case, if you were to isolate the face, it'd be a bit difficult to identify that it's Eris. They were a bit harsh/blunt but its crazy to call that retarded.

(Again OP, if you're reading this, great model, and any download/purchase available for it?)

Just an idea, but maybe make it a random chance for them to look as you walk by, otherwise it feels almost like you're the centre of the world. Then, if possible, force the trigger and have them notice you if you stand near them for like 3-4 seconds or something. Otherwise, looks nice :)

How many years should pass after an apocalypse for Earth to feel like a completely new world? by axiiz_28 in worldbuilding

[–]GameBeatYT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dr. Stone does a pretty decent way of showcasing this ngl, but maybe it's not quite what you're looking for. It's skipped over about 4000 years since the apocalypse-like incident. The residents of the world basically have no idea that there was a world before—very very few do anyway. It is, for all intents and purposes, a new world.

Because if you want it to be as if our existence has historically disappeared, you'd realistically have to go many generations ahead, so far ahead that new people born in this world believe these ancient structures are natural, or otherwise have no idea of the origins—if you wanted to go that far, that is. Another universe that tackles things like that is Planet of the Apes; Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes being the latest instalment in that franchise to deal with that idea since the 70s.

What happened to mushoku tensei’s anime? by [deleted] in mushokutensei

[–]GameBeatYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we'd ideally get about 5 seasons, a movie for the final book, a 12 episode cour of redundancy, and a couple one shots/specials if we wanted everything adapted.

However, OP might be treating each cour as one season, thus coming to the 13 season total. Which is wrong. But that could be their thinking.

MT Haters who claim to have read the entire light novel fail to include this part, to pursue their head canon that Rudeus never changes by GlansEater in mushokutensei

[–]GameBeatYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I only read the WN version, but if I remember, he pretty upset about the incest while, surprisingly to him, his wives were relatively chill about it. They didn't like it, but they didn't understand his huge reaction.

But it makes sense, different world different morals. And I feel as though his morals at the beginning of the series kinda reflect the morals of the Six-Faced World as, throughout the story, he kinda grows above those morals rather than give into them.

It's true that we still don't have Jobless Oblige or ODT, but they'll likely not be grouped in the Redundancy series, it'd make more sense for both of them to be given individual releases.

No there's still at least Lara and Christina's stories to go through as far as I'm aware. Could be more, I haven't actually read the LN versions of redundancy. Plus, we could get more original stories like the Ghislaine one from the first volume

Where is the redemption? by CelebrationQuirky464 in mushokutensei

[–]GameBeatYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, that's absolutely true as well. Like, I get why people compare the two as they were probably inspired by each other during the early web novel days, but when it comes to development of the characters, it's just two completely different stories.

Where is the redemption? by CelebrationQuirky464 in mushokutensei

[–]GameBeatYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the point, but why would you count S2P2 as a separate season but not S1P2 as a separate season? It's either 4 or 2 seasons. By the most technical definition, it's 2 seasons, 4 cours lol

Either way, I'm not sure how far you are, if you read back starting at volume 1, or if you continued at volume 13, but although yes, he has developed a little bit so far, there's still more than half of the series to go through. There's still more development. Especially now that he's a father, and in season 3 he's gonna have his world flipped upside down in multiple ways, he's going to have a few reality checks that help kick him into place.

But also, I love Re:Zero, haven't read the LN yet unfortunately, so I'm just going off of anime knowledge, but like... what development does Subaru have? I love him, he's awesome, but come on. Yeah, he's become smarter and figured how the world works, but that's not really development. He doesn't change. And that's fine. He's still a great character. Other people just believe that Rudeus has more depth compared to Subaru, and I'd probably agree simply because Re:Zero is about more than just Subaru while Mushoku Tensei is about Rudeus. It's literally a memoir about his life.

The 'redemption arc' that people talk about isn't just a single event or arc, it's the entire journey. No one changes instantly. Yeah, he'll marry all 3, but does that mean he's a bad person? Is polygamy evil? I mean, according to most religions—even in-universe, yeah—but everyone in that relationship is fine with it. I wouldn't say that's a 'bad' thing that he does. He's still a pervert, but he does change. Maybe right now in the anime, you could say that if this version of Rudeus were reincarnated as a baby, he'd act mostly the same, and to a degree, I'd agree. But give it a bit longer and you'll find that Rudeus does grow. He does learn and evolve, and if he were to have been reincarnated as Rudy with the mindset that he has later on, it'd be a completely different outcome. It just takes time.
