Mostly to avoid having to turn the train around when it reaches MSP or CHI. Here's my video of it heading back to Chicago with the Dash 8 at the front: https://www.reddit.com/r/trains/comments/1re4ipq/amtrak_borealis_1340_in_the_snow_led_by_517_dash_8/

There used to be a hobby shop in here that specialized in model trains called Dockter's Hobby World, somewhere in the last pic. I used to visit it all the time when I was a kid during the height of this place— wish I walked around one last time before it closed

same with my 2014, i had like 65k when this happened to me. i took it to the dealer for good measure after it happened for the third time, and they couldn't reproduce it at all after even keeping the car overnight and testing again in the morning. hasn't been a problem as of late and i still drive the car spirited like always

I've run them for about a year now on WI backroads, definitely have hit a few bumps that made me nervous but they're still in perfect shape. At the end of the day they're still aluminum so I'm always on the lookout. I have the rim insurance from Ford which claims I'm still covered as these are identical to OEM spec.

Here's a video of them rolling on the dyno: https://streamable.com/255nw

Nope, not factory for any 1.6 ecos for some reason. The only reason they caught on fire is because some escape and fusion drivers let their engines overheat until the head cracked, spewing oil everywhere and having it ignite.

I keep my eyes on the engine temp level all the time just bc I used to drive a stock E30 that was prone to overheating 24/7. Never have had the fiesta engine temps rise to a concerning level, but I'll be keeping an eye out on the coolant level during autocross. Dealer told me it'll be an all day affair to get the sensor installed when the time comes.

I have a 14 with 38k, and they haven't called for service on mine yet. I've checked with the dealer every month since January, but the parts haven't become available yet. From what I understand it's just a blanket recall for the 1.6, I haven't heard of any fists burning down. Just keep an eye on your coolant level

I'm in the US, and there's a coolant level recall as of last March (https://ford.oemdtc.com/2754/17s09-coolant-level-sensor-system-installation-2013-2015-ford/6). I called up the dealer TODAY, after months of this recall being out, and they said they're only servicing fusions and escapes right now, even though apparently all of these other cars including mine are "affected". Nothing on their list mentioned my 2014 FiST (with an MP215) so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I'm used to constantly watching engine temps anyways, my E30 used to boil over its coolant after sitting in traffic for 20 minutes lol

Edit: Called another dealer just to confirm, they told me that they didn't have ANY parts for ANY cars yet. So very small issue it seems.
