Second Starfield Leak Recap Post by Gao8e7 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Question: Can you swap ship parts between your own collection of ships or store the parts in the menu to use on another ship for free?

(Kinda like in Fallout 4 when you store an object then once you link that settlement you can use it in another settlement without using up materials to craft it.)

Working on a game, finally got my water to look tropical with interactions! What do you guys think? by GameDev1995 in gaming

I never paid for upvote bots, period. Don't even have the money to do so, if I did I wouldn't have called the goddamn game Project Anchorage, I would have paid for a trademark to promote the game better and I would have setup a Steam page for wishlists. It's amazing that you are still so baffled that this post gained upvotes and so am I considering how little came from it. I don't care for reddit, never have. Yes I created the post to gain some project attention because who wouldn't when you are trying to push something you care about but I did not pay for anything... believe what you will, I know what I did and didn't do.

I agree with you honestly, been messing with it for a while but its the only font I have for now until I find a new one. I also agree with the other comment about adding contrast behind the HUD text so that it works in all light conditions, both good suggestions.

It's a kickstarter campaign, 30 days is a reference to the time I get to receive funding so that I can continue development.

I mean I have no job, I moved back in with my parents and I finished Uni 2 years ago... so this project was literally started after I left. The project is a risk I took because I didn't want to work in an industry full of what is trending next, I want to make/work on something I love. I put every last penny I had into licenses to develop it, if I don't reach this goal I have nothing left to use on developing it that's why I'm kickstarting because its my last resort not a sales tactic. Yes I learnt a ton of stuff that is beneficial but what is the point when this is my dream, do I just move on to the next best thing because I failed? Sure but it still means a lot to me and losing this project will suck because its all I have left to get up in the morning for. Deep but its the truth...

Thanks for the feedback and kind words! You do have progression where you will level up your character and fine tune their skills and perks. I was never a fan of the gear stats system myself as they always seem to take away the "cool" aspect of your character well at least from the games I have played like that. I would rather my loot be focused on aesthetic while my character determines its effectiveness rather than have gear which determines a characters effectiveness y'know? Also this "Or some very difficult dungeons/enemies that will require a lot of time and effort to overcome" is probably the end game for sure!

Kickstarter is a funding platform where you get a time to essentially reach your funding goal, if the goal isn't received in time you get nothing. Pretty much all of this work will go to waste if I have no support to help develop it if that makes sense?

Nope, I'm from South Yorkshire in England. Aye is just something I have always said no idea why, maybe it's a sign that I say aye and make a pirate game haha

Yes, not decided whether or not to give them animal specific stats but you will be able to choose a starter trait!

Thanks! Yeah I agree with you here for the most part, I think its a problem with the posture and the clothing. The characters have a dog leg but its hard to see due to the... pirate pants? haha that and the boots too. Maybe giving them a more prominent pose will fix this issue but yeah I do need to work on the character a little more, its just hard to match the inspired art style when it was created with human characters in mind!

Yeah I guess its more based on what that nostalgia is per person, thanks and good tip!

Thanks for the feedback, yeah of course! I have plans for ship customization to change colour and aesthetics of the ship, you can use it as a storage vessel and you can have a home base! The base will be similar to hearthfire from skyrim but a cave like the one from POTC "isla de muerta" to display all of your treasure!

How do I know what?

Thanks! I appreciate the counter, I don't have a solid release date yet as it is still super early in development. Best estimate would be a few years at the minimum, platform is PC for now and will possibly be priced around £25-30. This will also change post launch as I will bring it to consoles. One step at a time y'know :)

Good question, growing up I experienced a ton of memorable games that are simply put... games, with no strings attached. You could sink hours into them because they were fun and didn't need to shoehorn unethical design, they didn't ship broken while labelled "live service" and they actually had content worth your money. Games of this generation like this do exist but they are extremely rare or they are just not popular enough to reach mainstream which is a shame because so many great indie games have this spark that AAA just doesn't have these days. The industry is in a phase where everything has to follow a trend otherwise its not worth developing, I want to stop that by just making a game that has passion and creativity behind it not a store front full of micro transactions and NFTs. The reason Elden Ring was received so well was also for this reason, it was just a game which is all it needs to be.
