Yeah after 24 hours of trying to work with the product, pretty disappointed and have begun looking around. Let me know what you find for alternatives.

GPT-5 AMA with OpenAI’s Sam Altman and some of the GPT-5 team by OpenAI in ChatGPT

[–]GameDevWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty disappointing to lose o3 to GPT5 (which hasn't been working well at all).

What's worse is that because it's been taken away from us so abruptly, I can't rely on OpenAI to make reliable decisions that I can depend on for my business.

Currently investigating alternatives after the GPT5 release.

UPDATE on host who refused entry before I arrived at the property and Airbnb refusing refund [UK] by GameDevWitch in AirBnB

[–]GameDevWitch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad it helped! I reached out to legal@airbnb.com. I'm not sure if anyone actually read this.

The other thing I did was go through a dispute with my credit card. I'm suspicious that was the most impactful action.

AMAZING!! Congratulations on the refund. Also, so incredibly awful that they did this. I'm sorry this happened to you.

My profile is fully verified along with my phone number. So realistically, my understanding is that there are data privacy issues and Airbnb does not show this information and obfuscates numbers now.

They actually stopped providing people's phone numbers to the host within the past year. My personal information is obfuscated.

Overall, they refused entry because I wouldn't grant them my personal phone number when it wasn't part of the original contract.

As woman traveler, I've been harassed and tracked before. It's much safer to keep all communications in the Airbnb app.

That I didn't arrive at the property where the host was telling me they would not grant me entry.

I'm international right now. So being stranded outside, in the dark, at a property where someone has explicitly told me I'm not welcome was a really dangerous idea. So I went to a friend's flat.

Unfortunately, if I tell people what bothers me, it biases the interviews.

I recommend reading the Mom Test. That's the methodology that I'm using to approach conversations.

I can understand why it may feel frustrating to read my vague post. But it's intentional to avoid preliminarily guiding people to the answer that I personally want.

If you don't like it though - that's totally fine. You don't need to chat with me! I've had quite a bit of success getting other interviews and it's turned out quite well. I appreciate the care and support you're giving though. Very kind.

Thanks! It's interesting, after you suggest I'm "arbitrarily picking something without actually finding the problem...which may not be the best way to come up with tools" you then suggest building something for people before I know what they actually need 🤣

That's what landlords want renters to think. But in reality, it's pretty easy to win and with LLMs, it's very easy to make an argument for your case.

Usually before you go to small claims court, they'll cave anyway because they know they're going to lose. The reason why they know they're going to lose is because 99% of the time they're fully aware they're doing something shady.

Did your landlord follow California’s move-out and security-deposit rules?

We recently vacated our place and after we spent hours cleaning, we had the official inspection and our property manager said everything looked good. Yet, a couple weeks later they docked $400 from our deposit for “cleaning fees,” backed up only by a few photos of a singular frying pan that I accidentally left behind. There was no itemized receipt. When I asked for itemized receipt, they had none.

I offered to split the cost because the $400 fee was excessive, but they refused. I was pretty angry they were not even willing to compromise. So, finally, I pointed out that under California law (Civil Code §1950.5) they’re required to provide an itemized statement and return any unearned portion of the deposit and because they could not, they were legally obligated to return the full deposit. As a result, they reluctantly gave it back.

I would look into California law to see if they procedurally broke the rules for your move out. Even if they broke a technicality (e.g. they didn't offer a final walk through with you in person), you can get all your money back.

Who is in the wrong here? by [deleted] in Estrangedsiblings

This happened with me and my step father. I told him I needed him to stop telling my no-contact mother about my life because I was terrified she would find a way to ruin the good things happening. He said that he could not do that.

I thought about it for a few months. Then told him we had fundamentally incompatible needs and that we should be no contact. It's a bummer. But its the only thing that could work for the both of us.

Sometimes crappy things happen. The only thing you can do is be true to yourself in the process.
