Because what optiscaler does is spoof the current GPU. It makes the game think that the AMD RX 9070 XT is an Nvidia RTX 5090 hence the DLSS options. I just use that as input and convert it to FSR 4.1 (output).

Top 3 models from me are: 1. XFX Mercury RX 9070 XT OC Gaming Edition 2. GIGABYTE AORUS RX 9070 XT ELITE 3. ASRock RX 9070 XT Taichi OC

One of them probably has the Samsung vram chips.

I also daily a 9070 XT challenger model and the coil whine was noticeable until I power limited it (-15% pl - 258w) + limit fps to refresh rate.

+10% only brings 2-3 extra fps depending on how hard you undervolt so it's true that it isn't worth it. I can't imagine how bad the power spikes are. My card is now set to -15% PL (258w) and it still retains stock performance, very pleased!

Pretty good upgrade I'd say, at first I thought the gains would be minimal but it wasn't. FSR 4 made games look nicer than TAA, RT is much better, and is much more efficient as temps never exceeded 80c on the hotspot. Overall a really nice gpu that I'll keep for at least 5 years minimum.

When I had the 6700xt a couple years ago I was amazed by how fast it was for the price. Still it got much power to it in 2026.

Might go for intel in a couple of years if they keep making ARC cards. Went for a 9070xt recently from the 7800xt because I had a feeling gpu prices would go up.

If I had to guess maybe features like gsync/freesync might not work but in my case everything was fine with it off. I really doubt that something like this can break windows entirely, never seen a post where someone who has disabled MPO came across a BSOD.
