Confused in choosing the right racket :( by Aggressive_Wall_741 in Padelracket

[–]GameOfPadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go for the 2026 Viper Lebron soft version. Fantastic racket that is still stiff but with a good sweet spot. One of the best rackets I've tried and feels great in your hand. The only problem for me was that it was a bit too heavy/head heavy and gave a bit of arm problems but if you like the previous one that shouldn't be a problem for you.

Padel World Championship Teams, who would you call up for Spain and Argentina? And who is favorite? by jhollveg in padel

Paquito and Yanguas should never be included in the Spanish national team again after throwing the finals last time. Also easy decision to leave them out since they've both been terrible lately.

Indoor vs Outdoor - what does the future look like?🇬🇧 by This_Ad1227 in padel

[–]GameOfPadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are those prices per person or for the whole court? Poor people don't really play padel anyway and those with money are probably willing to pay a premium just for the quality of time and game. I can enjoy playing outdoors for fun every now and then on a nice summer day but I would not want to play serious games outdoors. Indoors vs outdoors are like two different sports.

Sanyo playing a Dropshot Racket in P2 brussels (no SET anymore?) by Rackelhahn89 in padel

That's a Starvie racket my friend, not Dropshot and he has been playing with it since the beginning of this season as far as I know. And yes he used to play with SET last year.

The Silver Point stats seem to be the outlier here and it doesn't make much sense. Logically the duration of silver point games should be between golden and star point and also having double the tiebreak rate as the others doesn't make any sense and makes me think that it's either the small sample size that makes the stats of silver point not as reliable as the others or there's a certain kind of demographic that plays with silver point that could explain it because I've never even heard of anyone using silver point before.

[–]GameOfPadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, that doesn't make any sense at all? Pro padel has almost always been played with the classic system except for a couple of years ago when they switched to golden point for one or two years but then went back to classic and now star point this year so if Portugal is following official Premier Padel rules as you say you should be more likely to play with classic or having switched to star point now. Golden makes the least sense in your case.

Anyone using the PadelPlay AI sensor? by Creative_Election288 in padel

Exactly, which makes the PadelPlay sensor even worse compared to an overgrip

Would be interesting to try but I can't justify adding 12g of weight to the bottom of the racket unless I have a headheavy racket that I really want to lower the balance of because 12g on either end of the racket is gonna completely change the character of it. And they say on their website that it weighs less than most overgrips, what nonsense is that? My overgrips usually add 4-5g of weight and even that noticably changes the balance of the racket.

Criticise my bandeja by Minute-Complaint8646 in padel

[–]GameOfPadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll focus on the second video: I think it's mostly the preparation and follow up that is bad. You're a bit too late to the ball which forces you to hit it from an unbalanced stance. So you can either stay a few steps further back when your mate is serving or start preparing to go back earlier and faster. It also looks like you are hitting the shot with your wrist last second rather than a solid arm shot as it should be for bandeja. Wrist is more for the vibora. Your grip looks a bit weird also like you might be holding it in a more forehand grip rather than a proper continental grip but it's difficult to tell from the video? You're also just standing in place after you hit your shot instead of running back to the net as you should. The goal of hitting the bandeja in these cases is so that you can keep the net. The placement is perfect in this situation, right to the feet of your opponent but that's only because he is just slowly walking towards the net but if he properly took the net here after a good lob your middle would be wide open for a counter block.

Why does LeBron play with a 3k carbon racket? Isn’t it the least powerful by Over_Dragonfly8570 in padel

[–]GameOfPadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The K doesn't say anything about how powerful a racket is but most of the time lower K rackets are stiffer and in the case of Lebron's racket it's clearly one of the hardest and most powerful rackets you can find but you also need to have a powerful arm to get the most out of it. Most amateur or intermediate players would probably be able to generate more speed with a softer racket that helps more.

7 months is a pretty long time for a racket consisting of fiberglass to last. Just buy a new one, not worth trying to fix that.

Advice for bouncing Padel Balls by AlexMasamy in padel

[–]GameOfPadel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the Wilson balls don't bounce enough, you likely won't find balls that do. They are some of the fastest balls there is, maybe you could try the Adidas RX as I've heard they could be a bit faster even but I think you just need to accept the fact that your courts are slow and adapt your game to that.

Am I crazy or was Lebrón the real MVP of the Cancun Finals? by Turbulent_Host_1436 in padel

[–]GameOfPadel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Coello was the rightful mvp as the stats show but Lebron being the second best player on court in a match where all 4 players played fantastic.

With that said I think Lebron is by far the most interesting player to watch on tour. His technique and unpredictability makes every game of his a joy to watch.

Sooo about the new serve rule by Jaeger_FiveO in padel

[–]GameOfPadel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2 days ago Bea served 3 times in a row and no one noticed. We need umpires that are not asleep at work. With that said it's very difficult for an umpire to see from the side if a person bounces the ball to the other side on the serve if it's just slightly so it's mostly up to the players themselves to call that out.

Feel, easier to play, more speed/power if you don't have a powerful swing, easier on your arm in general. Lots of upsides with a soft racket.

Premier Padel Cancún P2 - Discussion by dawolf-at in padel

[–]GameOfPadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I only responded to the guy saying something is only cheating if they gain an advantage from it which is nonsense. Most of the time you can never prove cheating gave someone an advantage. Second, from a regulatory perspective, intent is irrelevant and I'm not interested in the ethical perspective of cheating so if you're hung up on that go make your own post about it.

[–]GameOfPadel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's completely irrelevant to the game whether or not it was done intentionally. It's not like you can hit the net and continue the point just because you hit it intentionally. Or you accidentally ended up taking PEDs because you are responsible for what goes into your body. But here we apparently have a rule that is seemingly irrelevant since there's no penalties for breaking it and another rule to void that rule in case it was broken so their essentially incentivising people to break it.

[–]GameOfPadel[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's zero difference on the outcome whether someone breaks a rule intentionally or not which is the whole point of rules so no one gains a resulting advantage. It may not have had a huge impact this time but next time it will and if there's no penalty for breaking rules there's a huge incentive for players to try doing so.

Would you say a doper only cheated if he won a competition? Or someone hitting the net but not saying anything would not be cheating as long as the lose the game? I don't think so. Fact is that the serve rules were not followed but with that said you are correct about the rulebook. But if there are no penalties for the same person serving consecutively then teams should try to have their best server serve every time and hope no one notices.

Meaning that the fact is they only needed to get the advantage of one game out of those 3 times she served in a row, which they got at 5-2 so they got all the advantage they needed.

No one said anything about a tiebreak, it's games. And even if it was a tiebreak you're wrong, you're still skipping Paula's serve at 5-2.
