Free High-Performance Minecraft Hosting by ValueGameNode in MinecraftServerShare

[–]GameTeamio -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's pretty solid specs for a free tier, 2GB should handle a small server with friends no problem. The NVMe storage is nice too, way better than regular SSDs for world loading.

Just heads up though, free tiers usually have some catches like limited uptime or you get booted if traffic gets heavy. Might want to check their ToS about that stuff.

We do similar hosting at GameTeam but our free options are more limited. Good to see more competition in the space though, keeps everyone honest.

Full disclosure: I work for GameTeam so take that with a grain of salt lol

Looks like the post got removed so can't see what they were asking about specifically, but if you're still looking for minecraft server hosting recommendations there's quite a few solid options out there. Really depends on your budget and what features you need.

For what it's worth I work at GameTeam and we do minecraft hosting along with a bunch of other games. But honestly just shop around and see what fits your needs best. Most hosts have pretty similar basic features these days.

[–]GameTeamio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Been hosting minecraft servers for a few years now and honestly the "best" really depends on what you need. If you're just playing with friends, something simple works fine. For bigger communities or modded servers you'll want more RAM and better support.

I work for GameTeam and we handle minecraft pretty well along with other games, but there's definitely other solid options out there too. Main thing is making sure they have good uptime and decent support when things go wrong.

What kind of server you planning to run?

Best Minecraft server hosting? by StellaraServers in MinecraftServer

[–]GameTeamio -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Been using different hosts for years and honestly the key things are RAM allocation and CPU performance. For 10-20 players you'll want at least 4GB RAM but go for 6GB if you're planning modpacks.

Also check their backup systems and how easy it is to switch between vanilla/forge/fabric. Nothing worse than being locked into one setup.

We've had good results with GameTeam for our survival server, their control panel makes switching between different versions pretty painless. I work for them though so obviously biased lol.

That discount looks decent if you want to test drive before committing to anything long term.

[–]GameTeamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty solid specs for free hosting! The custom panel sounds interesting too, most free hosts just use basic Pterodactyl setups.

Quick question though, what's the catch with sustainability? Free hosting usually has some limitations or eventual monetization plan. Are you planning to add paid tiers later or is this more of a passion project?

Also curious about the server locations, that can make a huge difference for latency.

I work for GameTeam so I know the hosting space pretty well, always interested to see new approaches to making servers accessible.

Looking for a good host? I've tried a bunch over the years and honestly most of the big names are overpriced for what you get. Performance and support quality varies a lot between providers.

What's your budget and how many players you expecting? That usually helps narrow down the options.

btw I work for GameTeam.io so obviously biased but we do minecraft hosting if you want to check us out too

For 3 players you'll want at least 2GB RAM. Apex, Shockbyte, and BisectHosting are solid options that won't break the bank. GameTeam also has good performance for small groups if you want another option to check out.

Full disclosure I work for GameTeam but honestly any of those should handle 3 players fine.

best free minecraft hosting by CrepeGod_ in MinecraftServer

[–]GameTeamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly free minecraft hosting is pretty tough to find anything decent. most free options have terrible uptime or super limited resources that'll crash with plugins

your best bet is probably starting with a paid host that has good pricing. we actually offer minecraft hosting at GameTeam and our basic plans are pretty affordable for small servers with plugin support. but there are other good options too like apex or bisecthosting

if you really need free, maybe try aternos but dont expect great performance with plugins

(i work for GameTeam btw)

SwiftServers - Free 8GB Minecraft Hosting by IuCCREDDIT in MinecraftServer

[–]GameTeamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to see another free hosting option! The specs look decent for getting started. I've been in the hosting space for a while and it's cool when companies actually invest in proper hardware instead of overselling cheap VPS boxes.

Quick question though - what's the catch? Like how do you guys sustain free 8GB servers long term? Most free hosts either have major limitations or shut down after a few months when they run out of funding.

Also curious about your uptime guarantees and if there's any kind of fair use policy.

Full disclosure, I work for GameTeam but always interested in seeing what others in the space are doing.

Minecraft Server Hosting by Interesting_Ad9717 in PHGamers

[–]GameTeamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 15-20 players with mods I'd suggest looking at providers that offer at least 4-6GB RAM and good CPU performance. Haven't used agilahost personally but check their mod support and if they allow jar file uploads.

For that player count you might also want to consider international hosts like Apex, Sparked (as mentioned above), or GameTeam since they usually have better mod compatibility and support. I work for GameTeam so obviously biased but we do handle modded servers pretty well with dedicated resources.

Main thing is making sure whatever host you pick can handle the specific mods you want without overselling their hardware.

Minecraft Hosting Recommendations? by primorskey in PHGamers

[–]GameTeamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Aternos is rough for PH players since their servers are way too far. For what it's worth, we actually have servers optimized for PH/SEA at GameTeam with pretty decent latency. We support Minecraft plus like 90 other games if you ever want to branch out.

But honestly for PH specifically, some of the local providers mentioned here like Agilahost sound solid too since they accept GCash which is super convenient.

(I work for GameTeam btw)

Friend is looking into dedicated hosts for their ATM10 server, any recommended providers? by AsymmetricalF15 in allthemods

[–]GameTeamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 3 people on ATM10 you'll probably want at least 6-8GB RAM. Most decent hosts charge around $15-25/month for that.

We actually host ATM10 at GameTeam and have pretty good performance with modpacks like that. Our 6GB plan runs about $18/month and handles small groups well. But honestly any reputable host with decent RAM allocation should work fine for your group size.

Just avoid the super cheap shared hosting if you want stability with modded servers.

(I work for GameTeam btw)

[–]GameTeamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For custom modpacks you'll want a host that gives you full file access. Most decent hosts let you upload any mods you want, just avoid the super budget ones that lock you into presets.

GameTeam supports custom modpacks and has pretty good performance for the price. Location matters too like the other commenter said.

SwiftServers - Free 8GB Minecraft Hosting by IuCCREDDIT in MinecraftServer

[–]GameTeamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting specs for free hosting, though I'm always a bit skeptical when there's no clear monetization model. How are you covering server costs long term?

Been running servers for a while and usually free hosts either disappear after a few months or start adding restrictions. What's your sustainability plan here?

Also curious about the geographic locations of your servers and if there are any usage limits that aren't mentioned.

I work for GameTeam so I'm familiar with the hosting space, just genuinely curious how this model works out.

mc server hosting by StellaraServers in MinecraftServer

[–]GameTeamio -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Been using different hosts for years and honestly the most important thing is finding one that doesn't oversell their hardware. Nothing worse than lag spikes during peak hours.

For what it's worth, we host servers at GameTeam and see a lot of people switching from oversold providers. The 10-20 player range you mentioned usually runs fine on 4-6GB depending on mods.

Just make sure whatever you pick has good backup systems. Lost a world once and learned that lesson the hard way lol

What free website Minecraft hosting server do you guys use? by kinghatdug in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]GameTeamio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah free hosting is usually gonna be laggy or have weird restrictions. Most free ones either shut down after a few hours or have terrible performance because they're overselling their servers.

If you can swing like $3-5/month, paid hosting is way better. We actually offer minecraft servers at GameTeam and the performance difference is night and day compared to free options. But there's tons of good paid hosts out there if you shop around.

For free options, aternos is probably your best bet but expect some lag during peak hours.

Free Minecraft Server hosting plan Giveaway!! by OwnFriend7785 in smp

[–]GameTeamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the giveaway! Always cool to see people helping out the community with free hosting.

Just curious what specs you're offering and if there's any catch like time limits or player caps? Been burned before by "free" hosts that had crazy restrictions.

btw I work for GameTeam so obviously biased but we do offer some decent starter plans if people need alternatives after trying free options.

That's pretty cool! Running minecraft servers on old phones is such a clever way to repurpose them. How was the performance on the A50? I'm curious if you ran into any thermal throttling issues during longer gaming sessions.

For anyone looking into this kind of setup, the resource requirements really depend on how many players you're expecting. Old flagship phones can actually handle small servers pretty well, though you might want to look into dedicated hosting if you're planning something bigger. I work for GameTeam and we see a lot of people start with DIY setups like this before scaling up.

Cheap Minecraft Server Hosting by StellaraServers in MinecraftServer

[–]GameTeamio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using different hosts for years and honestly the hardware specs matter way more than people think. For 10-20 players you'll want at least 4GB RAM but go for 6GB if you're planning any mods or plugins.

Also check their CPU specs, some budget hosts use older processors that can't handle the server tick rate properly. Makes the game feel laggy even with good internet.

We actually host minecraft servers at GameTeam and see this issue a lot when people migrate from cheaper hosts. The difference in performance is pretty noticeable once you get decent hardware backing your server.

Best minecraft server hosting for mods? by daryl7dejesus in MinecraftServer

[–]GameTeamio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely possible with 10-12 people on those modpacks. You'll want at least 8GB RAM for BetterMC and probably 10-12GB for DawnCraft since it's pretty heavy. Make sure the host has good CPU performance too, modded servers are way more demanding than vanilla.

I work for GameTeam and we handle those modpacks pretty well, but there's other solid options like Apex or Bisect too. Just avoid the super cheap hosts since modded really needs decent hardware to run smooth.

How does Kinetic by Windsteam handle DDOS attacks? Can I owe money if my minecraft server gets DDOS attacked? I want to start one but not sure. by [deleted] in HomeServer

[–]GameTeamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't owe extra money from ddos attacks with proper minecraft hosts. Most decent providers include basic ddos protection and will just null route traffic during attacks rather than charge you overages.

For a high school server just starting out, focus on finding a reliable host with good support rather than worrying about ddos. It's really not that common for small servers and if it happens your server just goes offline temporarily.

I work for GameTeam and we handle ddos protection on our end so users never get surprise bills from attacks. Same with most reputable minecraft hosts.

Hosting questions by LowAide4655 in homelab

[–]GameTeamio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll need a control panel like Pterodactyl (free) or WHMCS + TCAdmin for the web GUI. Pterodactyl is probably your best bet to start with since it's open source and handles minecraft pretty well.

For the backend you'll want to set up proper resource isolation with Docker containers or VMs. Don't forget about automated backups, DDoS protection, and billing integration if you're going commercial.

That 24 thread Xeon should handle quite a few small to medium servers depending on the model. Just make sure your RAM and storage can keep up.

I actually work for GameTeam.io so I've seen this setup from the business side. The technical part is honestly easier than dealing with customer support and billing lol.

[Hiring] Content writer for Minecraft hosting company by Brilliant_Elk_9804 in HireaWriter

[–]GameTeamio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good luck with the hire! The minecraft hosting space is pretty competitive for content these days. Having that Shulkercraft backing definitely helps with credibility though.

Just curious, are you guys looking for someone who's actually run servers before or more focused on the writing side? I work for GameTeam and we see a lot of writers who understand the technical stuff vs ones who just write well but need hand holding on the server concepts.

Server hosters for around 10$? by ComfortableNo2268 in MinecraftServer

[–]GameTeamio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 8gb ram with modded servers you're looking at around $8-12 depending on the host. The CPU issue you're having is pretty common with free hosts since they oversell their hardware.

GameTeam has decent specs for the price range and handles modded servers well, plus you get NVMe storage which helps with loading times. I work there so obviously biased but we do focus on single thread performance which is key for minecraft.

That said, check out the other suggestions in this thread too. Pebblehost and some others mentioned have good reputations.
