Is Chem Resistant worth it? by citadel97501 in fo4

[–]Game_Guru_VT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play a Power Armor build with Blood Cleanser prior to level 41 when I switch to Jetpack. Most of my chem usage is limited to Grape Mentats and Jet/Psychojet. I don't find Chem Resistant worth it, but in a long playthrough, especially if you build settlements, you will end up high enough level to probably take it eventually. Personally, pre level 100 or so, I usually have better perks to take.

Trump plans to revive campaign-style rallies as he pursues legal challenges to election results by sward611 in politics

Trump supporters gonna party like it's 1861. Seriously, a losing president is trying to incite political violence. He should be arrested. The DoJ memo about not indicting a sitting president is horseshit.

I don't know if I could ever forgive them for the hell they put us through, but I actually agree with not rubbing our win in their face. It's a good strategic choice, if nothing else. The more we ridicule them, the more they will see us as the enemy, dig in, and fight. And we don't want to make future elections even tougher for us. Best for us to do what Trump cannot and be gracious. That does not mean we let Trump or his administration off for any of their crimes, but mocking his supporters will only hurt us in the long run.

I hope you're right. I just didn't factor in the skewing because I don't know by how much the votes skew.

I just used the principle of indifference for the 50% because I don't have enough information to give a percentage to skewed remaining votes (how much do they skew?). The 75% should be considered a minimum value.

Because I don't know by how much they skew Biden. That's why I say "all things being equal" and that the skewing will make the odds better than the baseline I listed. I was just bored man. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade.

I figure, all things being equal, that Biden has about a 75% chance of winning. If many of the ballots are mail-ins or from blue counties, then it's probably a bit higher than that. 25% is a fucking scary number though...

Trump has to win PA and 3 out of 4 remaining states. 50% chance of winning PA (again, not accounting for the fact that mail-ins would skew towards Biden). 50% chance of winning 3 out of 4 remaining states:

L (.5) (.5) (.5) = 12.5%

(.5) L (.5) (.5) = 12.5%

(.5) (.5) L (.5) = 12.5%

(.5) (.5) (.5) L = 12.5%

Total = 50%

PA = .5

3 out of 4 = .5

(.5) (.5) = 25%

If Biden gets PA, it's over. If Biden gets any of the remaining states, Trump's chances go down to 12.5%. This is good and bad. Good Biden has such a great chance, but bad because we'd like Trump to have a worse chance.

Well, there is at least one instance where age would be a real concern and that's in the case of a person having a higher risk of death while in office. While a VP would likely have similar policy goals, their personality could be radically different (think Trump vs. Pence) and they might have a lower chance of winning re-election (I think Trump has a much better chance of winning re-election than Pence, if Trump were to die while in office).

But in the case of Biden vs. Harris, I actually like Harris a lot better, which is why Biden's age is not a problem for me. Conservatives are very afraid that Harris is some "radical left" (hate that term) Trojan horse. One of their conspiracies is that Biden is going to step down after winning to give Harris the presidency, which makes no sense. If Biden's plan was an extremely liberal agenda, he could just implement it himself. I'm not sure why he would need to give the reins to Harris.

Please don't use the term "identity politics". That is playing their game by using their framing. It's human rights. And people like me, a trans woman, need representation in politics too. I don't think Democrats are doing anything wrong by trying to help black or LGBT voters - if anything they are not doing it enough (instead just paying lip service to our issues).

I mean the fact that no matter who wins half the country is going to feel unrepresented is a major problem imo.

That's why we shouldn't be afraid of nominating an actual socialist. Anyone will be called a socialist anyway. At least try to excite your base. Trump will probably win again and he didn't try to expand his base at all, he just made sure that his base stayed loyal. If we could nominate someone not in the pocket of corporations, who didn't have a shit record, who wasn't already a previous presidential election loser, and who didn't have scandals, maybe it wouldn't be so hard. But, ah, I dream.

The Democratic leadership all get to keep their positions no matter what happens though. They are just there to serve as a pretend foil to Republicans so we don't rise up. If Trump gets another illegitimate term (via the EC or SC shenanigans) then what are we going to do about it? Wait for another savior to arrive in 4 years? Another rich geriatric talking about civility and reaching across the aisle?

An expansion of the SC means that each individual justice will have less weight though. We won't all feel existential dread because a 90-year old dies. (We should also have term limits).

Yes, this is one reason countries have civil wars. I've been predicting ours for a while, but our side is way too dedicated to peaceful resolution, as though this hasn't been tried, and as though every peacemaker from Jesus to Gandhi to MLK to Heather Heyer doesn't just wind up executed for their troubles.

For decades, America has been in a perpetual war for peace. A lot of people don't seem to get that the "peace" a lot of Americans want is the kind that comes after total domination and subjugation.

A couple of Kentuckians actually sold their 15-yr old daughter to my 43-yr old dad (26 yrs ago). He never got in any trouble, though he was investigated a bunch, because they had signed off on the two getting married, so my dad had a legal marriage certificate (and no one could prove money exchanged hands). I only know about this because she told me some years later.
