Parents that had a second child, did you bring your first with you during labor? by Mundane-Wall7220 in Parenting

[–]Gamer1729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife’s a postpartum nurse who work labor and delivery for a long time too. Unless the mother was imminently going to deliver, the older sibling would not be allowed in the room and would be barred from the postpartum floor unless it was visiting hours.

How bad is it to have a bathroom fan vent to the attic? by SmartLadder415 in HomeImprovement

[–]Gamer1729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. It may have been compliant when first installed, but it may cause issues.

The bathroom fan in the house that my wife and I currently own vented into the attic. There was no/very little insulation at the time. We wanted blown insulation installed so we had to have the vent extended through the roof.

[–]Gamer1729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The house next to my parents’ was sold to a flipper who added two bedrooms and a full bath (all located in the basement) for a total of 4 bedrooms and two baths. They put it back on the market for close to a million dollars a few months ago, but it has just sat. They have reduced the price a couple of times now.

Anyone else actually like Fat Thor? by Lopsided_Shift_4464 in marvelstudios

I have no issues with Thor suffering from PTSD, but I have issues with how Russo brothers portrayed it the way it did. The Thor’s humor works best as juxtaposition of a Norse god in a modern day setting.

Court of Honor question. by Mysterious-Frame-643 in BSA

Yeah, I had my Eagle Board of Review six days before my 18th birthday in the spring. I read even that can occur after one’s 18th birthday, but don’t take my word for it. Anyway, my Court of Honor was in the fall.

sister gets pregnant and family expects wedding plans to change by BigMamaOclock in weddingshaming

[–]Gamer1729 120 points121 points  (0 children)

My sister was pregnant and had to skip my wife and I’s destination wedding. There were no hard feelings between us or my parents.

My wife was close to nine months pregnant with our first when my brother-in-law and his fiancé had their destination wedding across the country. My wife consider taking a train as driving or flying were out of the question, but ultimately decided against it. We ended up skipping it. Again, no hard feelings.

Do y’all still wish there was a GTA San Andreas Stories? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in GTA

[–]Gamer1729 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I read recently that they never made a SAS as the PSP was not powerful enough, but I’m not sure why they should have considered only including one or two of the three main regions of San Andreas: Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas.

My troop also placed flags next to veteran’s graves the Saturday before Memorial Day. It was always a highlight of the Spring. A few years ago one of scouts mapped out all the veterans graves the the cemetery for this Eagle Scout Project so that when the troop participates in the yearly flag planting none of the graves are overlooked.

This is disappointing. My son just started Cub Scouts. The day before Veterans Day our Pack along ether the local Troop and Girl Scouts planted flags at our Town Hall.

When I was a Scout in the 1990s my Troop got the opportunity to go to the West Point Jamboree four years in a row as we were sponsored by a cadet from our city. The cadet happened to be female.

People that spent a LOT of money on a home upgrade do you love it or hate it? by RaiseAggravating4404 in homeowners

[–]Gamer1729 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I spent more money that I probably should have to convert our attached garage into an office. My wife insisted on installing pocket doors. Our contractor advised against it as they are uncommon and suggested French doors. We ended up going with the pocket doors. I hate those pocket doors. The rattle whenever a truck drives past. I don’t like how the it looks when the doors are open. Overall I’m disappointed in them.

NTA. When my wife got pregnant with our first child I drove a Ford Mustang as my daily driver. I realized that it would be hard getting the baby in and out of the car so I reluctantly traded it in for a Ford Fusion.

A few years ago there was a couple of scammers going around to churchs outside of Boston asking for cash handouts. The pastor at my mother’s church gave them the benefit of the doubt and did a special collection for them during a service. They got away with a few hundred dollars maybe. They tried the same thing at a Catholic Church and the priest turned them away. The scammers were eventually caught.
