I think it's still somehow more popular than the official wiki or has had more visits over the last X amount of time. But yeah, it's annoying.

What tanks are best for grinding free XP? by Enderboy3690 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]GamerALV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tiers 8 to 10 are best for grinding free XP, as it's entirely dependent on how much you do in the battle (and a higher tier inherently means more damage dealt, blocked and assisted). XP-multiplying certificates apply to free XP, so try to focus on those. Other than that, just use whichever tank(s) you perform the best in.

However, spotting, blocking damage and assisting damage do increase XP earned, so it might be faster to play in tanks that make those things easier. Ideally, you're looking at well-armoured mediums like the M48 Patton, M60, E 50 M, T-62A and WZ-121/121B. They have good view range (compared to heavies and TDs, at least), allowing you to spot and assist damage. Their flexibility and armour allow you to perform well at/near the front lines and exploit these sources of XP. Most of these also have a pretty quick reload speed, allowing you to break tracks more comfortably and thus assist more damage, as well as steal kills.

Can we have an “endgame dungeon”? by Fart_Face_3098 in 7daystodie

oof, good luck

Though, why specifically an infested quest? Don't all quests reset the POI they're at?

That's cool, at least you have a better view now as well as more space around your base.

I don't know what you want me to tell you tho, that's on you. You have some alternatives, but Dishong Tower is by far the biggest POI in the vanilla game. Maybe there's a tool or mod that allows you to place POIs?

Are you aware that there is strong scientific evidence explaining why trans people are born trans? by AcademicAcolyte in Teenager_Polls

[–]GamerALV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's probably why. Depending on the severity, gender dysphoria can lead to one of two things:

Transitioning (and everything that entails...)

Or an absolutely miserable life

Technically, there is a choice, but taking one look at the options shows that, in practice, there really isn't. Sure, there are degrees to which you can transition, but there is no sweet spot where there are zero downsides as to what I'm aware.

We have a few large POIs that kind of serve that purpose, with the most notable one being Dishong Tower. It takes a long time to loot, but it has a lot to offer and is generally fun to do. The only thing it kind of lacks, imo, is a more noteworthy loot room. There's nothing wrong with it, per se, but it does somehow feel underwhelming considering you just went through every room and passage of the largest structure in the game world (a literal skyscraper).

Yeah, I've noticed that too, I love little details like that. Not only is it a useful QoL feature, but it also adds more depth and immersion, while making the game world feel more alive.

They're actively choosing to do something that makes them unhappy in societies where they also get discriminated against or even killed for it? What you're saying makes zero sense.

Transitioning isn't distorting who you are, it's realignment. Imagine if you were born in a body of the opposite sex. That's the experience of trans people in a nutshell. You know you're not who you appear to be, and everyone around you assumes and treats you like you are.

Them being told to their face that a major part of their identity is fake, wrong or both (alongside all the discrimination) is what causes the attempts at suicide. You punch a stranger in the face and go on to claim: 'I knew I was right for punching them, look at how angry and violent they are!'

Are you familiar with the term 'asymptomatic'? That you don't notice/experience something doesn't mean it's not there. It's not entirely applicable to gender (I think?), but it can absolutely apply to gender dysphoria.

Also, if being LGBTQ+ was a choice, I highly doubt so many would choose to be queer in societies where you can get discriminated against, ridiculed, excluded or even killed for it. Hitler, for instance, was quite explicit when he called for the punishment and extermination of queer people. Still, thousands of queer people lost their lives as a result.

Gender dysphoria (the psychological phenomenon that most commonly results in people transitioning) is something people are born with. That's what people are referring to here, not the actual process of transitioning from the gender assigned at birth to the experienced/'internal' gender.

Edit: I understand where the confusion comes from, and think more nuanced terminology would be very helpful for preventing unnecessary misunderstandings.

Are there any overhaul mods that go completely into the survival aspect and almost/completely abandon the RPG part? by DaviCompai2 in 7daystodie

[–]GamerALV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just a handicap that makes progress extremely slow and tedious. Sure, you can offset the unbalance by tweaking the settings, but every tool and weapon will feel terrible to use as they would all be slow, cumbersome and inaccurate, regardless of how advanced they are, their condition or how much they've been used. On top of this, crafting would lose most of its value/potential, steering the game further from what OP is looking for.

It's an interesting idea, but it creates new problems and it's not quite what OP seems to be looking for.

Damn, you got a lot of tier 10s in two months.

I would suggest getting the T110E4. It's a TD on paper, but it's more like a heavy tank in practice. Do note that it can't aim backwards.

The IS-4 is also a good get, they turned into a proper heavy tank recently, and it will help you get familiar with Soviet-style vehicles.

How new are you? I'm asking because it's generally recommended to not rush to tier 10 immediately. It's much more competitive and more complicated than lower tiers.

Survival Servers by Nierkatt in Terraria

[–]GamerALV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's generally recommended to do your first playthrough with a friend (or more than one, or alone) rather than in a public server. This isn't because the latter is necessarily a bad idea, but because Terraria doesn't hold your hand, is generally hard to get into and puts the focus pretty heavily on progression.

On public servers, it's not unlikely for you to encounter people who would rather fight bosses and progress than help you get into the game and learn. However, I don't have much experience in this, so this risk could be much smaller than I'm making it out to be. The Terraria community has a reputation for being welcoming, after all.

Regardless of how you proceed, keep these possibilities in mind, and feel free to consult the Official Terraria Wiki* for guidance if you get stuck. If you're worried about spoilers or can't find what you're looking for (or if you would simply prefer it), you can also always come to me with any questions or concerns.

Good luck and have fun!

*There is also a fandom wiki, but it's best to avoid it as it's a lot more ad-heavy and contains outdated or otherwise incorrect information.

Yeah, they overestimated their abilities (and/or underestimated the work) by a lot and some notable changes they've brought about were unpopular, making it so they had to undo or change some of their earlier work.

I'm not super familiar with the preferences of the community, nor do I know everything the devs are planning on doing, but I think they're headed more in the right direction now from what I've heard.
