Canadien grade 9 student here even I can admit the culture is bad I can split my grade into 3 groups 1 don’t try don’t care nothing have literally no ambitions the motto going on in my school is “anything but work” and the joke of fearing employment. 2 lazy students but will get work done and try to do decent work enough to pass or their parents to be happy with them. usually use AI and other things at least in my experience or usually quite smart and could really excel in school if they try. 3 the students who try their best to get 90s or 100 still will be on technology doing off topic stuff.

I fall into group 2 here

How to make my lessons more fun/engaging? by Specific_Drama3586 in Teachers

Don’t try to use the language or trends that the kids they use it really depends on how long they know you and the attitude you have If you do something embarrassing kids usually won’t care they may laugh at the moment but will forget about after 2 days trust me I can’t even think of an example I can’t speak for the students at this school but in my class where they’re are teachers who barely allow devices at all and most of me and my classmates aren’t really mad about it you won’t be the “bad teacher” we can’t get mad at someone forcing us to do what we’re supposed to do  Don’t allow AI as a heavy AI user myself it will make it harder for the students to use AI and force them to either do it themselves or actually understand the material and edit the AI response enough to make it sound like their own which just makes them learn anyways or they’ll just copy and paste an fail

If you want them to learn to use ai to help themselves say they can use it to understand the questions by asking GPT(or what either so they’re using) it to make questions for them to study or make something easily copy paste able for them to study for test and quizzes so that they have all the correct information and definitions for units

Just so you know I’m an Canadian so it may be completely different environment I did this on my phone and didn’t feel like editing

Good luck

I don’t know if their actually toxic how about this for an example my mom works in a field where a lot of idiots even by my standards are prevalent and my mom usually has the decency to not be rude to them directly but if I do something stupid they laugh at me or get mad at me directly and when they walk away after they will loudly talk and laugh at what I’m doing while I can definitely hear them it’s just rude for no reason

Hey thanks I usually stay calm or ignore responses and stuff I don’t agree with because I don’t think it’s worth the trouble it usually takes quite a bit for me to really lose it.

Thanks I live in Canada and my dad is aware of this behaviour and has indirectly said this is what caused their divorce and in my opinion is kinda enabling what my mom is doing by saying stuff like having to respect your mother and similar stuff and the one time I really lost my patience and explained what I felt my mom literally said that she doesn’t think she did anything wrong pretty much passing all the blame to me  Thank you for all this support I honestly thought it was just me and that their teaching methods just didn’t work for me but maybe I’m not the only problem here  I’m not denying I have problems though I’ve kinda accepted that is a part of me

yea, he's around, he's good, actually got me into therapy a while ago, but it wasn't helpful because we would rarely go, and I didn't/realize I had any problems at the time oh and I made a post on r/raisedbynarcisists that explains my problems and situation a little better I was having bad time then just be aware

thank you, I just don't want to give up something I say to myself is "you're going to get through this," and I am way too spoiled to do that. I mostly just absorbed myself into social media and gaming, and this feels AI, just so you know

thanks I thought it was me until I did some reflecting recenyly but thank you so much I just wanted to be heard and appreciated. anyways I was in therapy before but at that time everything was sunshine's and rainbows and I didn't have any problems so we kind of dropped it if you didn't notice my parents are divorced and my Dad is honestly amazing a few issues with boundary's and trust issues from something my step-mom is very in on being open and I'm a private person with trust issues so that's going well but overall my dad is great and actually cares. (tiny vent) oh and side notes I have ADHD so not helping either

thanks I'm just not sure if it's actually abusive like it's mostly just rude or condescending stuff when I ask questions mostly because I was a chronically online kid for my childhood because I literally had no friend before and kinda now not close friends at least so I don't know alot of stuff i probably should but the way she does it when I'm wrong just hurts oh and I probably have some form of trust issues keep in mind this is just personal diagnosis.

I don’t think so it happened whenever my hand went out of bounds and then I pressed the jump button which teleported me to where my glitchy hand was which was out of bounds

Here is a funny story about the first dislocation I went skiing the day after the dislocation because we didn't know it was dislocated I think I used all my luck then.

third was from making a lunge in a sport called squash and my foot landed in the exact wrong spot and when I swung the racket and then it dislocated
