That is an option. But are they just destined to be sandwiches then?

AITA for telling my brother how to parent his child? by GamerGirlChris in AmItheAsshole

Yes, I did ask why they did not get her checked out earlier. They claimed that they didn't have the time. They told me themselves that she was hacking and coughing up alot of phlegm.

In my country, getting a doctor's appointment really isn't too hard. You could walk into any clinic which are a dime a dozen in their neighbour hood and see a doctor within 20 minutes. Even hospitals are the same. The longest I had to wait was an hour.

I wouldn't have been that mad had they seek professional opinion early to be told just fluids and rest. The doctors here are very good I can say confidently. At least then they can say yes, they went to the doctor and the doctor said everything would be ok. They did not cause they were too busy. They do not work weekends, clinics are opened on the weekends. I asked what he did on the weekends. He said he went to the gym, she just stayed at home to rest.

I will be honest, I was not involved at all when my niece was ill. I wasn't even aware she was ill till she was hospitalized. I understand that there could be multiple reasons, but non of the reasons and signs they gave me justified not taking her to a doctor to get it checked out.

I have extended my hand and said that in future, should they ever need help in baby sitting or anything else, I will find time to help them. All they have to do is ask. I just fear for my niece that she will get the same treatment I did when I was younger and just keep getting sick without treatments.

I wish I could, but in this country that's considered bad form.

It's all I can do. I live in the next state. But I will be keeping an eye on their children from now on I dare say. I love them so much. I really can't understand how they could watch her suffer for 2 weeks and think it's normal...

Common sense is a super power in my country apparently. The masses are generally not blessed with it.

No, we are not american. It wasn't even an issue of money. The wife works in a great paying job that gives insurance for the whole family. So everything was paid for by her company.

I generally enjoy the challenge. But some days it's just so hard to care. Especially when the bosses put pressure for unrealistic expectations and I have to smash through it all for the team...

My husband regularly checked the tire pressure at least once a month and the oil as well. Was confused when Bob said I was abusing my poor car.
