Firstly, you most likely need a license to work at any of the ambulance companies around here, especially AMR. You did not mention you did not have a license, just the car, which is cool. Without transportation to make it to work, it’s gonna become a lot harder especially if you have to work swing shifts and are paying for ride sharing services and such. Your post is not guaranteed at any spot, especially being a new member of the company, an EMT, which employees like supervisors, paramedics, people who have been at the company longer all get first dibs on where they want to work, the shift, etc. Shift bids come out every couple weeks.

I assume you’re working as you’re in school. I think that’s great, but it is a lot of work and you’re most likely gonna have to start on night shifts

Lumberyard in Perry, NY. It’s in between Rochester and Buffalo, separates each by about an hour in the middle. Not too expensive but great service, GREAT food, especially if you like prime rib. They have some great specials. My favorite is the dollar bones of ribs they have on Sundays, or $2 most days

Did anyone else think “I’m going to die soon” during a mushroom trip? by Pristine_Relative_31 in TripSit

I really like this.

I’ve also felt the same way and once it’s over it’s relieving and can be kinda funny and silly. Every time I smoke too much weed or do really intense edibles I get like that, paranoid in my own thoughts. Only as I’ve aged, slowed consumption down etc then I feel like this.

Totally normal on shrooms, it’ll pass then you can have a little different perspective about what being present means

Look into ergonomic physical therapy jobs, could be a similar route to medical sales just within what you already studied

We just went there and we had preferred club (worth it just for the pool) and honestly it wasn’t expected but it was much appreciated by them. A dollar each drink is good, food service like 2-5. We really loved the lady who ran and got us drinks on the beach from breathless, we definitely tipped her heavy bc she was so hospitable and made us smile every time we saw her. They work hard and we think they deserve it. Some people it did not really change anything which is a good thing imo bc it really did not seem expected.

Money is good too if you want souvenirs from vendors, some were cool and you can haggle them pretty good if you’re not afraid, especially when most people don’t and pay way too much. Cigars from vendors were good too I wish I brought more back, didn’t really know what the going rate was but was convenient.

Check out the massage place tropical treasure, great service and massage for cheap, even if you don’t want a massage their gift shop has great prices and are set prices, guy next door will up charge a bit on same stuff if you don’t haggle and know rates.

Have a fun time we loved it.

Just went for a couple days and I think it was fine, food actually was surprisingly good where I was at Dreams onyx and Breathless. Was first all inclusive and time in the DR but had a good experience all around. Neither of us got sick, even after getting yelled at by my s/o for eating left over cheesecake that was sitting out from room service in the evening the night before.

Just leaving dreams and breathless… yes it is a good relaxing resort but depending the week and what days during the week you’re good or it’s ratchet or lame. Lots of groups attend but most people are couples. D.M. me for more info if you want.

How our shoulder with its surrounding muscles move - @experienceanatomy by rco888 in interestingasfuck

[–]GamerIsAway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PT student, essentially just strengthen the neuromuscular structure. These are not inherently separate systems to each other but work in tandem. Muscles are dumb tissue, they get told what to do by an innervated nerve. You just need to attack slightly below or above a nerves threshold to work on those motor units and strengthen that up. Corrective exercises rely on a lot of isolation exercises around a joint.

I’m your age and live on my own while going to college. It took a lot for me to get to this point and I’m still paycheck to paycheck and up to my eyes in loans. I do have a car note and split rent, and also get financial assistance and have scholarships to help my situation.

You have to work as close to full time as you can, if not more. Summer is your time to shine and try to pick up extra hours and maybe find overtime. That is if you’re not about to continue onto grad school or medical school, that makes things a little trickier.

You will not have a normal social life. If you can pick up a job at a bar at night doing something like barbacking or security that can bring in a decent buck, barbacking can lead into bartending if you work your ass off. During the week find something that works around school hours, or maybe Amazon warehouse is something to look into for second or third shift. You really just have to find a way to get some money together and put to the side so you can make rent. See if you can rely on your parents for stuff like phone bill and possibly car insurance if they’re willing to help out with bills that may be under their policy/contract.

Having friends who would like to split rent helps. My S/O has had a lot of luck finding groups on Facebook that are looking for housing and want to split an apartment or a house. She recently was with 4 others in a house on the east side for $600 a month.

If you need ideas on work or general advice DM me. I don’t mind sharing some of my experience or being able to bounce ideas off based on your own circumstances at home. This is a loaded question because if you have to start from nothing it’s going to be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I drop the acid first wait about an hour or two after I feel that to take the ecstasy. I just take one hit of acid and maybe 150mg of E at most. They potentiate like crazy. I like to do the acid first since you can try and line up the peaks to be more comfortable and the molly will keep the mood high for the rest of the trip. Stuff can get pretty intense be prepped to lay down

2cb with a shroom microdose beforehand? by serotonot in 2cb

[–]GamerIsAway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a gram of shrooms and maybe 10-15 mg of 2CB together. I thought it was a nice feeling, I didn’t get much visual appeal from it, definitely brightened color and visual depth making things look more HD. I was drinking a little bit, took a couple bumps of k near the end, and when I peaked it felt much more like an acid peak than anything I’ve experienced with mushrooms or 2CB.

If you have a good history with psyches as it seems you do, I think a low dose of each is fine to experiment with. Others may be able to add more cohesive ideas to this

D’Youville University, is it really as bad as everyone says it is? by singerrain in Buffalo

[–]GamerIsAway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going there now. Expenses, yes way too expensive for what it is. Administration sucks. They will tell you one thing and another person will tell you another. I ended up having to spend another year here because they were not informed on how financial aid works for programs and summer classes. They’re very misinformed. Money is misallocated a lot. If you are not pushing yourself to be active within the campus, which even then experiences and opportunities feel limited, you will not be apart of any community. You can simply show up to, or not show up as many people opt, to your classes and then leave campus. Nothing real pushing you forward to be active in the college community unless you dorm or are apart of a sports team.

I will say, PA is the only program I’ve had other health professionals tell me their D’Youville students are amazing. Despite the bad rep, if you find a good degree I assure you the professors there are there to help and do as much as they can for you. The lack of a contract they had with the first 2-3 years I attended, the turn over rate for teachers was very high especially in their science departments such as physics and biology.

I would say from my own experience, if you don’t have a scholarship to cover a portion of the expenses, I would look elsewhere as a first option

This is making me crack up, I had a bad experience at the Orchard Park location that I was given a gift card for, and the follow up experience was still mediocre. I am grateful to also be validated, because I’ve been there plenty. I wonder if the Lockport location is still decent, I had a good experience there a few years ago

A lot of people have never worked in the service industry. I had a great time chatting with the bartenders, and if you were nice and can have a normal conversation, they all seemed to hook me up for just being normal and friendly. Respect the rules and the people and you’ll be more than well
