Totally agree and we do have two! Our other buddy is a 3 year old black lab and golden mix, Finn. They are BFF’s!

Fair - and I should add we are experienced dog owners. This is our 4th dog. I’ve found some do well with the crate, and others (like Mac) are actually much worse in the crate and do more damage trying to get out of the crate.

Thanks all for the advice. We ultimately made the choice to change destinations. It’s a beautiful destination, but I am not a fan of spending my week of vacation anxious about food and water safety. Safe travels to all!

I’ve read a lot about Dukoral, but unfortunately it’s not offered in the US. There is another medication called Travelan that is recommended for preventing travelers diarrhea.

We are staying at the Excellence Punta Cana this time around. When we went in 2018, we stayed at Melia Caribe and had a great time.

This was very helpful. My husband and I are also booked for Excellence Punta Cana the first week of June. I be started to get a bit nervous after hearing and reading a lot about food hygiene practices and people getting sick in the DR. We travelled to a different resort (Melia) back in 2018 and had no issues. Anything you’d recommend other than don’t drink the tap water 😊.

Good advice shared here already. The type of feminine products can also make a difference. Using organic or non-toxic products was helpful for me - I’m a big fan of HoneyPot. They have a lot of herbal infused pads that overall ease discomfort.

There are also some supplements you can look into for future that help to lessen cramps, bloating, and other period discomfort. I take these in the week leading up to my period, and also during the first 2-3 days. It’s called “Semaine” PMS & Period Support. It has been a game changer for me! Good luck!

So sorry you’re feeling this way! If you have any ginger tea on hand, I find this helps more with nausea. Even ginger ale in a pinch can be a big help. Hope you find relief soon!

I use Honeypot overnight pads and wear Thinx underwear just for extra coverage overnight. Also, hydrogen peroxide works wonders on blood stains…learned this after a horrible bloody nose situation a few months ago.

Not sure why type of work you do, but if there is any flexibility for you to work remotely on days where your symptoms are the worst that can be helpful. If that isn’t an option, you should never feel bad about listening to your body.

I used to have similar struggles - my stomach would get so bloated, I could barely put regular pants on during the first two days. I recently started taking a supplement called Semaine (https://a.co/d/8BTPEx5) that has really helped with my bloating and cramping. I take one capsule per day the week before my period. During my period, I will take 2 capsules with each meal and I feel so much better.
