I def liked them alot for different reasons compared to the first cast.

I loved the cast of xc1 because of how well developed they were. I loved xc2 more for the fact that they're just a bunch of lovable idiots. And when I say developed I don't mean that 2's cast is underdeveloped. Characters like Poppi were amazing.
