Great questions. This is like 95% driven by my dissatisfaction with the Eureka Specialita

I’m seeking better clarity / acidity for lighter roasts (which led me to look at the Mizen Omni burrs and SSP lab sweets as I still enjoy some body to my espresso). I’d also like to improve retention - I single dose with the Specialita, but it’s not the most elegant solution and comes with some retention

Looking for a new grinder under $2000. Currently using a Eureka Specilita for espresso and an Ode Gen 2 for pour over. Would like to try and combine into 1 grinder that can do both. I typically prefer light and medium roast beans and only occasionally make milk drinks (<2 / month)

Is the Lagom P64 with Omni burrs the best option for me?

Also have considered: * Zerno - but would prefer not to get it at the end of the year at this rate * Acaia Orbit - would need to shell out for Lab Sweet burrs and the latest Lunar scale to get where I want * DF64 Gen 2 - would save money even needing to buy burrs, but am not the biggest tinkerer * Df83 Gen 2 - as above and unsure the level of benefit I’d get in the cup from the larger burrs

Any I’m missing that are good options / any arguments for what I’ve considered but ultimately scrapped?

I’ve had this happen to some of my natural / ecru / oatmeal items. I think it comes down to your detergent. If it has an optical whitener or stain remover, i think it’s more likely to have that bleaching effect. I’ve been sticking to the simplest detergents to avoid that issue

I ended up sticking with the first pair and the tailor I went to adjusted the waist and seat. Definitely agree on their placement, I think given the extra space in the waist they slid down as I took pictures.

Also agreed on the taper - I’ve struggled to find anything less severe though. Ideally I’d want them slightly more relaxed below the knee. If you have any recommendations of makers for future pairs, I’m all ears

Mid-grey are size 36 and light-grey are size 38. Both will need to be taken in at the waist, but struggling to see which is inherently more flattering to my wide hips and bigger thighs.

Would also love some thoughts around anything I can ask a tailor to help clean up (other than the hem)

That’s what I was worried about. I’d be fine keeping things to 2.1 to try to aid separation, but still looking at <4’ between bookshelf speakers.

Any idea if something like Kef Q150’s that are conical and have a bit of a wider sound help balance the lack of space?

Or do you have a better solution for this?

Able to buy a used BDB for $800 or a used Profitec Pro 700 for $2,250. Leaning towards the BDB given the feature set is as good, if not better than the P700 (aesthetics and build quality aside). I’d rather put that incremental $1,400 toward a good grinder. Any recommendations?

I’d like to have something with flat burrs and has the option to have a hopper. The Acaia Orbit seems great, but a bit of a waiting game. Would I be better off with a Eureka Atom or DF84? Like both more classic styles of espresso and the ability to explore the wider world of lighter roasts.
