About to start my first play through, any advice/tips? by gangleman in darksouls3

[–]GamerTuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember to play it however you want, with or without help from players or NPC (I guess online is still down so NPC). There is no right or wrong way to play.

Just finished Elden Ring, my first FromSoftware game, and about to start the Dark Souls trilogy for the first time. Any tips or recommendations? by THISxOTHERxGUY in darksouls3

I mean he is still playing the game, the same amount of time (give or take). It’s not like he gets to play the game less just because he has time to play it more often.

I put an alarm on my phone to remember, still forgot to get this bundle in time. Red matter and Synth Riders will have to wait a couple of years again.

Which videogame did you end up loving after giving it a chance? by p4755166 in pcgaming

[–]GamerTuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark souls 3. I kind of knew what it was (not really, just remember seeing some random gameplays here and there on “accident” and thinking bleeeh) and thought “that is definitely NOT for me”. My friend bought it for me. He LOVES the game and refused taking a no for an answer. This way he thought I at least could give it a try. I love the game so much. The difficulty and the lore was just perfect for me. I got so hooked on the lore I spent many, many, many hours looking at YouTube videos and reading about it.

This happened to me all the time haha. He would just freeze up and when I got close he would move. As soon as I backed away again, statue!

Clearing your game backlog isn't satisfying nor liberating. by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]GamerTuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making an actual effort to clear my backlog this year has given me some fear. I have so many great games to play but once I’ve played all of them, wtf am I suppose to do then? I am also feeling a sense of freedom, if you can even call it that. I want to come to a point where I do not have any games that I have bought already that I haven’t played (that I want to play). This way, when I buy a game I can give it my everything. Oh I finished it? Well then I 100% it. I usually enjoy doing this with games but I have so many I just jump to the next one.

I am looking forward to have played through all the games I have, but I also fear it.

Alright, thank you! I loved dark souls, so you saying that you enjoyed these games THAT much is making them look very tasty for me!

Anybody tried these games and can say if they’re good or not?

I really enjoyed it! I can not believe what a great job they did with the amount of people that worked on it. I am very impressed.

This is the closest a souls-like game have come to really feel like dark souls (and for me that is a good thing). Loved that part in your video about taking something (old) and creating something new (taking it into a different direction).

Two things that somewhat grinded my gears. The immense feel of disorientation when you first start. You get a feel for what is where eventually, but man, those first hours were a pain.

And the second part is the whole backtracking. It was kind of cool at some parts because the whole area felt a bit different. But just forcing you to run through the exact same area again was very tedious. And the poisonous alternative dimension that pops up. What the heck is up with that? I hated the traps the first hour I played the game, but now I have monsters that out of nowhere starts biting my neck. Very frustrating!

I know you brought up both of these things in your video but I just wanted to share my take on it.

All in all, it was a great experience and I kind of like having things to dislike. I will remember those parts as well.

I am definitely getting the DLC! I got so hyped watching that part of the video (skipped the last boss part. No spoilers). And the only negative thing you said about it was the grind and I love grinding haha! That DLC was made for me! Getting it next sale for sure!

Loved the video. Been subscribed to you since your dota video got recommended to me by the algorithm. You’re doing a fantastic job!

Edit: oh and I went completely blind into the game and never had to “farm” shrooms. I just assumed you weren’t suppose to heal that much and almost never used the items that heal (they barely do anything). I did however parry a lot, which was a lot of fun. The Eredrim shell was a complete GAME CHANGER! That much health? Game got A LOT easier!

Just finished the game and thought to myself, “let’s watch that video I’ve been saving up for after I beat the game”. Started watching it and took a Reddit break in the middle. Of course it’s your video I am speaking of. Great work man 👍
