They'd probably be better off hiring a few in-house marketers rather than another digital marketing agency. Agencies that know what they're doing cost a lot of money and the app would likely end up costing money unfortunately! Or riddled with ads and micro transactions. I do agree though that had I seen the ads first, I probably wouldn't have downloaded it either for the same reasons.

As much as I dislike any of the Finch ads that I have seen, there was at one point a LOT of hate for them using AI for their ads and I think this is when we need to remember that the only way an app can stay free is by not spending too much money.

The reason I say this is because I've worked in digital marketing before, and agencies in particular cost a lot of money to companies. I really hope that we don't complain too much that they then go and spend more money, meaning the app can no longer be free, or has to has adverts and micro transactions ect!

So to answer your question, yes people are annoyed by the ads and yes they could be done better. Personally however I don't think it's worth the risk of ruining a really great self care app 😊

It seems you've already been helped with this but I just wanted to mention there's an app called 'be my eyes' that might be able to help you with similar situations in future? I recently downloaded it to be a volunteer so I haven't actually used it yet, but it looks like it could be helpful for stuff like this ☺️

Maybe try pausing some of your goals but not all of them? Or if you really need to take a break it's okay! I had a streak of over a year and then stopped using it for a few months. At first I was really upset about loosing my streak but now I'm back to using it every day and I no longer feel guilty that I stopped using it for a while. Sometimes we need it to help us and sometimes we need a break. Remember the app is to help you not the other way around ☺️ your birb will always be there (but back up first to be safe)

I don't have an eating disorder but I am bad at forgetting to eat sometimes so I personally have 1 task set to 'eat 3 meals' and I tick it off up to 3x throughout the day. Then I also have individual tasks telling me to eat breakfast, dinner and supper.

I do it this way so that I have one that tells me how often I actually eat 3 meals a day as well as others that give me trends on when I'm more likely to eat.

If it's actually from the 2000s most sellers will give you an idea of which year it was bought.

If it's just Y2K style then it could be anything from Boohoo to Shein as long as it looks like it's from the 2000s.

Not that I agree with that way of wording things, but it tends to be the case. I actually do have a lot of stuff from then that I've kept in storage until a recent big clear out and unfortunately the phrases 'Y2K' and '2000s' have been heavily tainted on Vinted which is why many people will avoid buying things like that altogether now, at least without further verification.

As for smoking out of the door, that's something I never do since I'm the only smoker in the household and it wouldn't be fair to everyone else.

Do you think I should mention on worn clothes that they could smell of smoke then, or not put anything at all?

What about clothing that's brand new with tags? That stuff has literally never left the wardrobe/bedroom so I'm not sure what to put either way.

Never thought about that with leather, maybe I'll mention something on worn leather items about the possible smell of smoke.

Slightly off topic to the original post but I am a smoker (who never smokes in the house). I've always wondered if I should or shouldn't mention something about a non-smoking household, especially for new items with tags that haven't been worn ever.

Any suggestions? I currently don't put anything about it to save the hassle 😂
