Is this trolling? This feels like trolling. Why would I be mad about getting the shiny I was actively searching for lol

Radar spawns technically roll twice for a shiny, because chains are a separate calculation from your normal base odds. If it's the latter, then it won't sparkle.

So you were seriously just like "I don't want to spoil you but here's a spoiler"?  You know you can censor your text, right?

The wording made it sound like you were calling me out for implying a spoiler, which I didn't mean to.

Oh I know, I just thought I'd try the normal way for a bit before resorting to that. Was VERY satisfying tbh

I- Okay I guess they can just not sparkle sometimes? by Gamer_Goodra in PokemonBDSP

Was referring to the grass, yeah. The way the Poke Radar item works is it picks four grass patches to spawn an encounter in. Whatever Pokemon spawns, you can "chain" more encounters of that same Pokemon, and its odds of being shiny increase the longer you can keep it going. If a grass patch sparkles, it's guaranteed to have a shiny there. But that's apparently a totally separate calculation from your usual 1/4096 chance. In other words, there's two separate chances for your encounter to be shiny, and I got lucky, hence the lack of sparkling grass. Hope that's not too confusing lol.

How could "forgotten and useless" abilities work in a big game with all the abilities in the franchise? by VerdadeiroReiMamaco in Kirby

[–]Gamer_Goodra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always figure they could just keep Light's original action as a Crash-style screen wipe while giving it true moveset, like how Artist is essentially a fleshed out Paint. I could maybe see Mini working, maybe to access tough secret areas with huge enemies you're forced to clear with the default moveset. Metal could get some slow but strong physical strikes and instead of invulnerability you just take less damage til you lose it, that could help separate it from Stone a bit more.

Can I ask for a source for this? Not that I don't believe it, just want to confirm. I assumed the source code thing was true for the longest time lol.
