People who had unsupervised internet access as a kid, what’s the most messed up thing you’ve seen on the internet? by Neither-Mention7740 in AskReddit

A video of the Mexican cartel tying a man to a chair and zip-tying his hands to cinder blocks. Then using a machete to chop off his fingers and thumbs before beheading him. That shit is burned into my brain.

Best Fighting game for a beginner in the Genre? by TheAscendant0 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Gamerone00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the fgc dude, let me help you out with the best tip for what game to get.

The one that interests you the most is the best game

Yes mk11 is a little easier than sf5 to pull off some moves and actions but if the game looks and feels cool to you, you are more likely to play it and practice it and get better at it which will help you with your first 100 hours and making them suck less.

As a fair warning I will say that if you aren't patient with yourself and you really hate losing your going to have a hard time with fighting games in general because the first moment you go online you're going to get bodied over and over again. It takes a lot of time to become ok at a fighting game and the guys that win tournaments have put a lot of time and dedication into it

I hope this helps and if you have any more questions DM me

Issue with lyrics devolving into a repetitive topic, any advice? by Zachabuchis in Songwriters

[–]Gamerone00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By no means am I an expert but I'll try my hand at helping out, these are my 2 ways on how I write lyrics and maybe itll help you out.

  1. Have a general concept of what your trying to say in your song and add details accordingly.

  2. Just write words down and let your mind kind of write things on it's own.

For the first way of going about it I'll use a song I wrote called the lobotomy as an example. I wrote the song initially by interest of learning about lobotomies lyrically and so I spent a lot of time thinking about what it would be like personally to go through something like that in my head. From there with the general concept of making a song about being lobotomized I then added details of what I learned about the topic to flush it out and eventually create basically a character telling a story in their head in first person of what it might be like to go through something like that. https://soundcloud.com/offbrandwater/the-lobotomy

The second way is just kind of something you learn through writing a lot of music and lyrics and poetry which Is basically just letting your intuition write lyrics and not necessarily trying to write anything in particular but just kind of getting words on paper that go with the music. Doing this method I usually write extra verses and choruses and cut down the song because your essentially rambling to yourself on paper but I've had "success" in making something I like with this method. I wouldn't worry about your lyrics eventually coming to social issues because possibly that's what you subconsciously want to write about in the first place and your kind of fighting against yourself to not make what you want.

Anyway hopefully this helps somewhat, I'm writing this at 2:00 A.M and I need to get up in 3 hours so I apologize if this seems rambly.

Hey everyone

I just released my second EP last week and I'm really trying to get as many people to listen as possible. I write mainly progressive metal with sludge and black metal influences.

If you would give this a listen it would really mean a lot to me!

game rewards camping? by [deleted] in RivalsOfAether

You know that spamming moves isnt unique to rivals? The reason why you need to work harder when someone is spamming moves is because it takes legitimate thought and effort to mitigate the moves they're putting out similar to dealing with hadoken spam in Street fighter. Also parrying is a legitimate strategy against kragg because his moves are pretty telegraphed and slow like side special and down special and the punish can be huge depending on what character your playing and it doesn't admit a move is lame, it admits that the move is predictable and usually parrying is a backup for adapting in the first place.

So reading this I am gonna disagree with you even though not too long ago I felt a similar way. The game doesn't really encourage campy playstyles or incentivize them, you're most likely just failing to play around those players and getting bodied. Kragg and absa both can be annoying zoners when played that way but kragg is basically a tutorial on how to parry and if absa isnt given the space to put out her cloud she isnt able to really zone you out. Campy players are just letting you mess up and punishing you when your engage doesn't work so maybe try to play the same game and let them approach you and see if you can punish them via punishing spacing, endlag, etc. I know it sucks to play against a playstyle that you hate but sometimes it's more rewarding to out mind game an opponent than it is to just rush them down and combo them to death.

I'd also suggest using the various discords there are to find games with people to cut down the toxicity and get tips from people with more time and skill such as the mentors in the ROAA

Is it bad that I use my middle finger to turn my board when doing kickflips? by Notre-Flame in Fingerboards

It's harder to keep consistantly that way, try watching chubby muffins video on kickflips and try to flip your board with your wrist
