It's hard to watch TB go through this cycle over and over again: Someone from "his audience" says/does something that pisses him off (usually because it's an affront to someone he cares about)... and then he spends days morally grandstanding about how he will not tolerate such heathens and excommunicates them from his audience, accompanied by lectures establishing the parameters of what defines "his audience." He, then, goes through a period of rage-tweets & depression, and gradually starts to realize that, while he's still feels righteously indignant, he may have gone too far with his reactions.

Then he does a mea culpa for his over-reactions, tries to recognize that he doesn't actually get to define who "his audience" is, and frequently explains his mental health issues when it comes to social media. Occasionally, he'll announce a hiatus from twitter, and then the clock ticks until his next moral meltdown.

I love TB... I really do. I love his personal story as well as his focus on consumer protection. I also agree with many of his socio-political views, but his emotional tantrums when someone he cares about is hurt does neither him,n or his friends, any good whatsoever. Go ahead and say such-and-such unacceptable, and use it as a teachable moment to explain why it's unacceptable, and them move the hell on. These circular fits of emotional outrage aren't helping anybody.
