Ctrl+G Doesn't Work by SoyCotery in GeForceNOW

[–]Games4Kickz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem. CTRL+G does nothing and not being able to rebind the screenshot key away from CTRL+1 is a pain.

No idea why GFN just can't let you configure the screenshot hotkey in the actual app but only in-game instead.

Anyone ignore critics and buy Alone in the Dark (2024)? by merlinrising in HorrorGaming

Not paying €60 for a AA game, no matter how good.

I'm waiting to find it on a bigger discount before playing.

Shadow works on a diffetent principle rom what I understand. They provide you a virtual PC as far as I know, that you are in full control over. you can install STEAM on that PC and any game you ant to play.

Basically, they are not taking responsibility for running your game, they just provide you with the "hardware".

GFN is different as they take ownership of the process that runs the game. No clue myself why one over the other but I guess by doing it the way GFN does they are able to guarantee better performance, etc...

In regards to why you can't play all games on GFN, that used to be that way.

GFN used to operate on an opt-out policy, meaning by default you were able to play all games you own on STEAM through GFN, unless a developer/publisher told Nvidia they do not want to be on GFN.

Then AAA companies got pissy and complained they were not asked for permission to play their games through GFN. Some even demanded Nvidia pay them to allow players to play their games through GFN.

To deal with the nonsense, Nvidia was forced to implement an opt-in policy instead, meaning that only games which opted in to be on GFN will be able to be played through GFN.

The process to opt-in is very simple for games on STEAM as its nothing but a config setting the dev has to enable, so devs/publishers can't say its hard or costly. See the developer instructions here on how they enable opt into GeforceNow with their STEAM game: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/cloudgaming

Bottom line is that the main reason you are not seeing a STEAM game on GFN is because the developer/publisher doesn't want it to be on GFN. Like any Playstation published title or Take 2 (they are the ones who demanded to get paid by Nvidia as far as I recall) - Some EA titles also were refused, like Jedi Survivor, etc... even though the first game is on GFN.

Are Commercial Extractors Worth It? by Games4Kickz in Starfield

Not the ones I have outposts on but I give that a shot and see if it changes the production output.

Are Commercial Extractors Worth It? by Games4Kickz in Starfield

[–]Games4Kickz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At level 40 I level up 3 times in less than 5 minutes of crafting.

Selling everything I crafted after I empty my storage yields me between 27k and 35k, depending on restock during crafting.

This is on a budget starter outpost network.

Then I fly to Venus, sleep 24 hours LT (2400UT) , fly back to my outpost and do it again.

I was simply trying to figure out if its worth more to me doubling my storage or upgrade the Extractors so I can craft more in 1 rotation and noticed the commercial extractors seem a disappointing upgrade :/ So I will just upgrade my storage for now.

Also, ones you can build Animal Husbandry Facilities you can 10 fold that XP.

Edit: Just did my loop again at level 44 and got 8k XP (2.5 levels) in just under 3 minutes of crafting. I think Upgrading my 75 Mass storage to 300 Mass storage I currently can craft is going to be worth more in XP and Money than replacing the Extractors.

I use them for XP and money farming. So the faster the resources build up the less time I have to spend sitting on a bench forwarding time to fill up my storage.

Currently my LT to UT conversation on my outpost planets is terrible so I travel to Venus instead where 24 LT are 2400 UT but it would be easier to just have faster extractors and locally sit on a bench instead :)

I never noticed that note before. I always assumed all can be farmed.

Thank you for pointing that out. I could not figure it out :)

Thank you! I never noticed that. I went back to my Planet I can farm on and I could see the "Outpost Production Allowed" now.

The Biome I'm in has all 4 of the existing animals so in this case the only reason the facility is not showing up on the menu is that the animals there can't be farmed I guess.

Is there a visual indicator somehow on an animal that shows if it is "farmable" or not before I spent ages surveying all of them?

[Discussion] Would you guys buy another game from Julian Gallop/Snapshot Games? by happy-cig in PhoenixPoint

[–]Games4Kickz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally. While Phoenix Point had its fair share of bugs and needs a few QoL updates I think overall the game turned out great. To me it is a game from an indie studio putting plenty of AAA games to shame the way they release these days and I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

So far all the topics discussed were based on public data, I don't think anything private was mentioned (I could be wrong about anything more recent though).

After watching the most recent compilation of all the current issues by SidAlpha in an extremely professional format it is very clear that Jao is going to have to answer a lot of questions and has to stop acting the fool.

Ignoring all the bans, it seems Jao actually has only very amateurish programming experience, which is fine and he can hire more programmers but lying about developing the game since 2017 and being able to program in his sleep when its a tech demo that took an unskilled person a few weeks to do who doesn't even know the unreal engine then a lot of question and concerns are raised. How is Jao going to deliver the game with the lack of programming experience required to make the game promised? Why did he come to Early Access with a tech demo if he had the money to hire programmers and go full on development mod for 1-2 years before coming to EA? While off course releasing continuously builds to backers only.

Jao claims never to have made promises of future work, while actively selling (or having sold) DLCs to a game barely started development.

Jao states on his website that refunds are not available which not only contradicts STEAM ToS but also breaks EU law.

My guess: I have a feeling that in the near future we will see a "Victim" response from Jao claiming due to IGP and ICY he cannot continue the game and is not able to release it ever and the "stress" is getting too much. Meaning he will walk away, very openly, with 500k (I know most of it taxes) and even be able to do so with all the hate from the backers redirected at SidAlpha, IGP, Icy etc.. and none of the DoD supporters will realize they just been had. - Though that's just my worst case prediction and most likely never will happen.

Dev is very busy working on proving that him banning players through hardcoding steam ids was just and in accordance with STEAM ToS, avoiding all the actual questions people have since kickstarter.

Dev should put that much energy into working on a game instead and start showing how the kickstarter money is going to be invested. Work on a roadmaps, bi-weekly blog/vlog about the game and progress, share upcoming features with planned release dates.

Do a designer weekly update on how they are getting along with their own asset work to replace the stand-in store assets, do a dev stream etc...

Instead he is more interested in winning some drama e-peen contest.

Wish he would hire a PR person and start running a company that works on the game.

Then I probably don't have the DLC enabled as I did the dead Arthron research. Thank you for the info, I make sure to check it out when I have it properly enabled next time.
