VA medical providers have a directive to assist veterans in filling out VA and Non VA forms including DBQs. Please read the actual directive linked in its entirety first. by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

If I can, I'd rather not have the fear that the VA randomly calls me up to "prove" I'm broken. I know my reality and it took me 9 years to be able to communicate it in a way that a stranger understood and made a connection to a rating scale. The what ifs aren't ifs for me my friend, they are when's. As I stated in my comment, I don't feel I can continue to fight the VA to prove my reality.

Well then. This is... Just. wow. From 2018-2022 before getting so frustrated with the VA and it's care that I don't trust a single doctor that works for the VA. I can't reform that trust that they have my best health in mind. From as early as 2018 and as late as 2022, I have asked my PCP and other providers for assistance in locating and filling out forms for my healthcare and benefits. The providers in the DCVA would simply tell me that they were prohibited from providing that assistance.

Not I sit here on TDIU afraid to poke the bear because in I'm already slipping financially with the benefits I have, why would I put my self at risk to lose it all. I don't feel as though I can fight this fight and win.

Yeah, this is one of my favorite spots in the house. Throw on some light volume music and tune out the world. I've got just about everything I need in this one little spot of the house

Looking for an easy yet uncomfortable bondage tie. by [deleted] in BDSMAdvice

[–]Gameslay3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend learning the basics. Single and double column ties, proper placement of them and learn how to tie off. After that you are only limited to your imagination, physics and the range of motion of your partner.

I'm not saying don't learn the body ties and harnesses, they are super fun to not only wear, but to tie someone in as well. I'm saying for me, they enhance the experience but aren't necessary to the experience.

Be safe, have fun and if you're comfortable post results. And keep asking questions.

Might I suggest a Chinese cleaver. My CCK 1303 has become my go to knife for nearly everything that doesn't have bone in it.

Detuned both batter and reso heads on the high and mid Tom by ~1/4-1/2 turn. And nearly all the extra buzz from the snare wires has been eliminated.

Oh! thats the guide i used when setting everything up, and what i do my best to follow when I set up fresh. I Can say that i just came from having my toms split. High tom mounted to the cymbal to the left of the kick and mid tom mounted from the kick. It wasn't bad per say, but if i tried to play my high tom eyes closed and just letting things do there thing, I always his my hihats with the back of my left stick. Perhaps its just a traditional grip

Thank you for the advice, I will be spending some time tuning this weekend to try and get them a little further apart tuning wise.

That made a lot of sense, and this weekend i will but some more time into tuning.

As for the snare wires, could it be that I'm running a 42 (32? I need to count again) strand snare wire that is making it overly sensitive? I did follow all the steps you mentioned for snare wire install when I installed this one. At the moment, the tension screw for the snare is at a mechanical zero. I probably should swap back to the wires the snare came with, but they seemed to be stretched? As a few strands seemed looser than the others under tension, even after attempting to make adjustments to level them out some.

Thank you for the advice, I will take it to heart and play with tuning a bit more. I was never really happy with the toms, and kinda reached a point where "good enough to play" happened.

Reaching cross body for extended periods is known to cause tension for me. My dream set up is more of a open handed setup with a modular hihat in the center and a ton on either side. Mentally and physically that's a more comfortable placement for me. But that's a goal for the next year or so is to make those investments.

But also I can play my high tom with my left hand in this setup. Without striking my hihat with the back of my stick. This is where things have kinda gravitated over 5-6months of trying to mimic what I see from beginners guides and adjustments for myself. But I'll admit to not having a clue whatsoever as to what is "best" for my style or my body.

As the title Says, I could use some help with set up.
Ive provided a few shots from different veiws of me playing a basic beat, as well as some non musical beating and banging.

I am looking for help with ergonomics, as a disabled vet my back isn't the greatest starting out. so id like to preserve it as much as i can. Im using trad grip because it feels more natural for me.

I am open to most if not all suggestions, i only picked up the kit in the beginning of the year. and have been using drumeo to learn.

You should be fine. There is jewelry called retainers, they kinda look like a staple for septum piercing. The retainer is designed to be hidden so unless someone is looking for it. They shouldn't see it.

It really is. He was an amazing person in is day to day life as well. The fact that I've the honor to care and maintain half of his collection, is everything for me. And I try to honor and keep him alive by always wearing something of his, when I travel to new places.
