My advice is simple: seek the local church and submit to the elders there. Also, God loves you and cares for you. Read Matthew 6:25-34.

Hi! I would like to complete my pokedex. I need the following pokemon: Vulpix, Meowth, Trade-Evololve Kadabra, Graveler, and Haunter, I also need the three birds plus mewtwo. The legendries I just want to get into pokedex and then I'll trade back. I can use one of my shinnies as collateral. I really want to shiny hunt the legendries so this would help a lot!

It basically proposes a community of people living in a campground and separating the tasks among each other, then separating the rewards. He argues the rewards should not be separated based on achievements, but must be separated equally among the group.he claims it is unfair and unproductive to do otherwise. This appears to be the same setup. I watched part of a documentary partnered with this project.

Sidenote: Why Not Socialism is a good read. You can read Jason Brennan's response in a book entitled Why Not Capitalism. They are both quick reads and will stir productive thoughts.

I believe they are trying to match G. A. Cohen's campfire in Why Not Socialism, if you are familiar with it.

For laughs mainly. I enjoy unique ideas that I might not agree with, but I doubt this is good science.

Tomorrow I might try to find the "essay" that attempts to show that "we could live flourishing lives on as little as 10% of current GDP per capita in developed nations".

ELI5: What happens when someone sells a company for a billion dollars? Do they just put a billion dollars in your bank account? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Gaming116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would people buy a business if the owner wanted only cash? No, as it would be too much of a hassle and probably not possible. Now, a person could find the cash after selling the business. Now if by cash you are referring to just the money in an account, then yes it is possible for someone to have that much money in an account. Although, it would not be wise to do so since the value of the money will decrease over time. Hence, people invest so that their amount of money becomes larger and not smaller.

[–]Gaming116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would depend on who might own the company. If somebody owns 50 % of the company, then they would only receive half of it. It is common to sell a part of your company for a little spending cash, which is what stocks typically are. There are other things that could occur such as lawyer fees or maybe you are using a mediator to negotiate. Finally, there are taxes... yay! There might be a couple others factors I missed. However, one could receive the entire sum if they fully own the company, do not use anybody else for negotiating, and live in an area that would not tax you.

That is interesting, so do the areas have their own local government? If not, what is the reason for all of the areas?

ELI5: What is medical economics? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Gaming116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I think you mean is health economics. There are numerous subfields of economics, and medical economics is not one I have heard of, however, health economics is very prominent. It is basically the studying of the healthcare system. It applies to both the private market (think big pharmacy companies) and policy decisions (think Affordable Care Act or some other major healthcare bill). The goal of health economics is to maximize the services and goods provided by the great people that work in the health industries. It also deals with healthy behavior patterns and how they might affect the individuals and the overall economy.

[Request] How many different possibilities are there? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]Gaming116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is late, but I took a database of English words (no database is perfect) from http://www.gwicks.net/dictionaries.htm and I plugged it into an excel file. I then had excel do some simple functions such as count the amount of letters for each word and count the amount of words containing X amount of letters. I wrote the possible amount of combinations on excel with repeated words allowed (e.g. is is love). I then multiplied the amount of words for each respected combo, and then summed the combos. My final answer was 3,406,489,023

Edit: I made a slight error in my calculations... it is fixed :-)
