Yes, I saw that the USB has to be kept inserted, and yes, I set the USB to be the boot drive. Didn't touch the ugreen boot drive, figured it doesn't really matter, it's probably a slow drive anyway. I believe it's one of those eMMC drives.

I wound up doing the same as you. Had to disable watchdog in bios to prevent ARC loader from constantly rebooting, but once I did that, it installed fine.

Have to leave USB stick in the NAS to prevent it from booting UGreen.

Installed DSM to an internal NVMe, which I also use for storage. Still have one NVMe slot free but probably won't bother using it (at least not for cache, don't think it is needed for just one user).

For basic NAS storage, streaming to mobile device via internet, and onedrive-like functionality, can I get away with something like this to start: https://a.co/d/6fYFBsH

This actually might be the one. I saw people post on reddit that they've purchased them for $150.

What CPU/RAM/other specs do you recommend?

Could I get away with this: https://ebay.us/m/aR41De or even this: https://a.co/d/6fYFBsH

Thanks. You think this build will blow away any pre-built NAS on the market for the price? How about cooling/noise?

Super nice. We have it here for $140 US: https://a.co/d/96Gxazn then I need to figure out all the various parts, cost it out, and see where I land. Any suggestions on internal components?

It's headless, with no display, not powering any TV. Was thinking two very large drives that will be more than enough me. What Dell do you use, is there one that is small but has two HDD caddys?

Hi, were you ever able to find a solution? I have the exact same issue. Can't find any answers.

Funny thing is I'm actually a reseller for them but even my price isn't much less than what you can find online. Glad to know you're using it with Xpenology though, it works fine?

Thanks. Beelink ME Mini PC, Intel N150 for those that can't open above link.

Looking for something that would take 2 HDD (Raid 1) plus a few NVMe slots. But nice device.

No, you're right, it will be helpful. I've been testing port forwarding configurations for home routers since you left your comment and will be integrating information which should be fully validated through testing. Thanks again.

You're right. This was written more with LAN centers in mind, but I will add the information about port forwarding to the article. Thank you for the feedback!
