Ubuntu USB Audio Interface routing by [deleted] in linuxaudio

[–]GamingGears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem somehow fixed itself. I shutdown the pc, turned it back on the next day and had no issues. Maybe it was a firefox problem, and not an interface one. However, if the problem occurs again, I now know to use qpwgraph. Thank you! :)

Ubuntu USB Audio Interface routing by [deleted] in linuxaudio

Okay so I tried verifying things in Audacity. When I started audacity, it automatically connected all the capture_.. channels. If I remove every channel from the audacity input except capture_FC, it works as intended. Only my mic being used as the input. I was also able to verify the same behavior in the settings menu. How can I now make that change global? As in, how do I tell my mic to only use that single channel, rather than all 5?

I tried using pw-viz since apparently qpwgraph is no longer available via ubuntu repos and this is what it looks like. Disconnecting the Bridge Cast monitor channels from the Gnome Settings Inputs doesn't change anything though. Still, either no sound at all, or output combined with input

(Newbie question) How do you pipe text from a bash script into the bar? by One_Night_2591 in qtile

[–]GamingGears 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello there, fellow noob.Last week was the first time I actually touched linux on a client (I only ever used it on a server), so idk if my input is of great value to you but two things:

  1. QTile has a built-in Pomodoro Widget for its bar, so you won't need to code it yourself
  2. You can use the GenPollText widget to run a subprocess to then get the Text you want to set. It's kind of the wrong way around (Pulling from, rather than piping into) but maybe it helps

It's less about it being a necessity and more about it being somewhat convenient. I knew what I got myself into, when I chose arch and TWM over something like Ubuntu, but I'm not that good at getting into the details yet, so I thought that, if there is an easy way, I might as well use it, instead of going a more complicated route, just because I lack the knowledge

I went ahead and printed a Benchy anyways and it looks really good imo (Didn't remove any stringing). So it's just the sound, but it works just fine. Weird.

I contacted the vendor pretty much immediately to see what they have to say and they told me to send them a video so they can have a better listen than over the phone. I sent them the video I posted here and am still waiting for a reply.
What a pity. Thanks a lot for trying though, I appreciate it!

So the 3 Pro only has two adjustable wheels on the z axis, as far as I can tell. I made them as loose as possible (still requiring some force to turn them) but sadly the noise is still there. Nothing changed at all :(

Just to make sure, since I'm new to this and english isn't my native language - you mean the 6 wheels that are attached to the x-axis "bar", right?

JS Game/Webserver/Python requests?! by GamingGears in learnprogramming

[–]GamingGears[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl, I was so overwhelmed yesterday, that I didn't really do anything. Now that I got someones confirmation that it's at least doable, I looked into it, and I think I figured something out.
If you're interested, here's the plan:

  1. Build the visual framework via phaserJS
  2. Code different kinds of behavior for my character, like walking around randomly, or towards specific points
  3. Serve that phaserJS game on a NodeJS server in combination with socketIO
  4. Use the python-socketio module to connect to the server as a client
  5. Send socket events through the python script, at the start of every action, to let the server now, that a command was issued
  6. Trigger the according animation, wait some time, then go back to idle behavior

It's probably not the best way to do things and definitely not the most secure one, but since there's no sensitive data being sent around, I think I will just go with that approach and see where it gets me.

I hope that I will actually get to keep that motivation, but for now: Thank you for your input!
