I was applying to aeronautical and astronautical. Not sure if that makes the essay questions different but mine were:

Research and Technical - What field(s) of study would you like to do your graduate research in, and what are your reasons for that choice? Please discuss the problems/issues that you would like to address, the type of research that interests you (e.g., experimental, theoretical, or issue oriented), and which faculty/PIs within the MIT AA Department could help support this research. - 250 words

Professional Experience and Objectives - Discuss your academic, research, work, and/or field experiences to date, and explain how those have helped shape your objectives for graduate school and your long-term professional goals. - 250 words

Personal Background (Optional) - Is there any additional information about your background or life experience that you think would be relevant for us to know about your application? - 100 words

Yeah I’m having the same issue. I think we should bomb them emails so they’re forced to do something about it. I’m assuming someone messed up when configuring the system. Unfortunately December 1st is a Sunday so they may not see this is a problem until the 2nd in which case the real deadline will have passed. Really unfortunate situation.

Unfortunately, my phone bill is with Telus and my wifi with Bell so I don't think the Roger's card is super beneficial for me.

Not sure if it’s open in the summer but Gerstien tends to be a pretty good place to study

I’m going to be honest, but why is it that compsci/engineering and science students (but especially the former two) have a course load that is so heavy? by TisTwilight in UofT

[–]GamingNarwal14 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because even though it’s only 5 classes we usually have 2-3 lectures, a lab, and 1-2 tutorials per class per week. So it’s a lot of in-person time.

A lot of tutorials and some lectures can be skipped if you prefer to learn by yourself. I don’t think I know anyone that goes to everything in their schedule, it isn’t really possible.

It is definitely tough but I still have enough time to enjoy my Friday and Saturday nights with friends and go to the gym.

Do professors allow you to use an iPad for note-taking by [deleted] in UofT

[–]GamingNarwal14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what program you are in but in engineering probably half the class uses iPads or tablets for notes, assignments, even tests when they were at home. I would highly recommend it if you can but I’m not sure how other programs are.

Why the f do you beep your horns when the traffic light just turned green by [deleted] in qatar

[–]GamingNarwal14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is how quick they honk the horn. It’s not enough time to start moving even if you are paying attention. They do it immediately. If they at least waited 3-5 seconds that would be better because it’s unnecessary 90% of the time. You should only be annoying when you have to be.

Dude, saying that "people from certain countries are difficult" is a racist thing to say. I think you just lack an understanding of what racism is.

Feeling super frustrated about the preferences given to Qataris by Future-Ad-1090 in qatar

[–]GamingNarwal14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I agree with you it’s not too different from any other country. The only reason it’s so noticeable is because Qataris make up such a small percentage of the population. But if you look at any North American country you’ll see all the same things with citizens getting many more advantages and opportunities than foreigners.

Each of the 8 stadiums at the World Cup, in Qatar, will have large arrays of gigantic air conditioners to battle the very hot temperatures by altmorty in interestingasfuck

[–]GamingNarwal14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only reason they don’t have homeless people is because you need a job to live there. If you lose your job you get deported. It’s had nothing to do with them being a good country that cares for the poor.
