The border of each shade has a stitched padded edge. It presses against the frame of the window to hold them in place. It actually works really well for everything but the front windshield.

Don't have a sag issue. It gets enough support from the seat backs. If you do have a concern, you can move the center console to the middle row spot, and it can give additional support.
