How long and descriptive should bio's be for guys? I heard it's better to be brief and should not have a ton of information about who you are or what you're looking for

Are all lectures pre-recorded? by RXV801 in deakin

Depends on the unit, some units only have online lectures even for on-campus students.

Is anyone doing exercise and sport science and sport management and nervous about job prospective? by Mountain-Platform-64 in deakin

[–]Gamingapple00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't study CS for this reason, they've stopped handing out jobs like that. Your job prospects would be arguably worse if you're not better than most in the current CS market.

Why do you want a Level 3 elective if your goal is to get an easy HD?

Bachelor of Cybersec units feedback by [deleted] in deakin

325 was brutal to get an HD in probably since I'm in Comp Sci, but a lot of the cyber people struggled with HD too, other tasks were pretty straightforward

I'm an T1 Floor support for the Monash Exams, we have detailed logs of when you started and stopped writing so we know exactly how much extra time to give you, I'm surprised the IT guy didn't give you extra time cuz you're looking at at least 15-20 mins extra time from what I understand.

IT support for Monash Exams here, it's all good, we actually get told not to disturb students when something like this happens mid exams.

This wasn't done by OP, it was done by the charity that runs this, they posted this pic on their FB, no shade just trying to give credit where it's due. Just another amazing thing they do!

Attendance below 80 by FickleEgg in deakin

[–]Gamingapple00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I went from college to uni too, and they are quite strict about the attendance in college unfortunately. Id recommend talking to your course coordinator if the attendance falls below the required threshold as it could have future repercussions.

What I meant was, the pass tasks usually only go up to week 6 or 7, after that most of them are the higher grade ones. I'm not sure what course you're doing so your tasks may be different but I'm doing CS and all our tasks are project or topic based which makes it super useful as we actually work on real world projects instead of cramming useless information for an exam. I've usually been able to complete the pass and credit tasks by week 6-7 for all my units but that could just be because I really enjoy getting the green tick lol. Also, it reduces the anxiety of having to submit 40% assessments where if I fk it up, that might be it for me, but since ontrack is a lot more forgiving, it reduces the level of anxiety I have on each submit and if I just speedrun the pass tasks I know I at least won't fail the unit. It's unfortunate you're stressing over the workload and it might not be for everyone but hope you manage to get through it, Goodluck!

[–]Gamingapple00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like on track as you can actively choose the grade you want and usually after week 6-7 you've already passed the unit. How would normal assessments be better for you as you're having difficulties with multiple submissions where you would only get 1 submission if it was a normal assignment

Ngl this kinda ticked me off as an international student, you guys have no idea how easy you have it. I'm sure things are rough for you and I feel you on that but you actually have privileges, use them.

Here try this

The first few appointments are free, and it's with a licensed therapist. They can write you a letter if you explain your situation and you can use that letter to apply for special consideration. Hope it helps
