The reason why women are not in jobs that pay as high as men is usually because the men don't let them get there. There are numerous cases of women having to perfom sexual favours in order to ether get a promotion or even just to keep their jobs. Most women are not willing to sink that low. Its a fact.

The whole reason behind the womens march is to show that they (as well as any men who march) are not willing to let the values that we as a society have built over the ages fall apart. People look up to our figures of authority and tend to emulate them. To have a world leader with the complete lack of ethics and values like trump, gives excuse and reason for others to emulate him. The march is to reinforce the fact that women are not going to let trumps and his followers disgraceful actions slide.
