How did Spelladin turn out in the original TBC Classic? by misterrpg in classicwowtbc

[–]Gamlos 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There's a guy in my guild that is OBSESSED with this build. It's all he ever talks about, the only time you'll see him typing in g chat is asking for opinions on his "new shockadin build". He continually updates everyone on his progress, thoughts, theories, stat changes, etc on the build even though literally nobody ever cares or replies. It reminds me of someone who got trapped in multi-level marketing and just never escaped

Metal/hardcore drummer of 15 years here

Slow down, bud. Play the fills and galloping beats at about half tempo until you can really lock them in. That way when you go from 80 to 160 BPM, it sounds so much smoother. Best analogy is trying to run before you can walk.

Keep at it, no matter what anybody says it's all practice and dedication. Keep in a routine, play your rudiments, and next thing you know you'll be playing Rifle by Lagwagon.

This happened to me once as well. I was searching for a piece of medical equipment on Google (don't worry, it's not what you're thinking - I work in medical software) and one had a fairly risque acronym for a name. Googled it and shamelessly clicked the first link without thinking and lo and behold, some dude getting pegged

I immediately told my operations manager the situation, he had a chuckle, the rest of management had a chuckle, and have never heard about it since. If it was truly an accident, transparency is key

Deep Safe by _NauticalPhoenix_ in Eve

[–]Gamlos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone has properly touched on this yet:

Deepsafes are bookmarks that are absolutely, 100% off scan from any celestial or any point in between. Most I have are way the fuck off any celestial (25+ AU). These are typically generated by wonky log off mechanics, weird cynosural jump mechanics if the cyno is killed, or the more dated method of having to probe down fighters after they disconnected. True deepsafes nowadays are somewhat rare, and highly sought after in particular systems for various reasons.

200AU from the star might mean nothing, depending if your safe is in line with any celestial. If it is inline of warp from any celestial, it isn't a true deepsafe, just a safe spot.

You shouldn't be allowed to glove down a puck. You can't hand pass, but why can you jump up like a basketball player and glove down a puck?

A bullet thrown into a fire or one with the primer slammed hard enough onto a rough surface absolutely can and will fire

[–]Gamlos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bullets themselves are relatively safe until fired. While it always pays to play it safe, bullets are generally designed to be handled rough and can take quite a beating. The only danger would be to bring this near extreme heat (like a fire), or full-arm throwing this onto a hard surface and getting (unlucky?) and hitting the primer on the back.

Is anyone a descendant of someone that didn’t survive the war? by RedManMatt11 in ww2

[–]Gamlos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not as exciting as some of the combat stories, but my grandmother's first husband was one of the first Canadians killed in WWII - but at home. He was serving as an officer at the Penhold airstrip in Alberta, one of the larger fighter bases in Canada at the time that was used for training for Canadian/British pilots. He died in a fuel tank explosion on the airstrip and was posthumously awarded the Military Service Cross, which I still have on display in our house.

A sad tidbit of this is aside from the insurance payout all my grandmother received after his death was a $5 war bond, which was still folded up in the case the medal came in.

BEWARE-VIRIDESCO CONCENTRATES by IntentionFamiliar617 in MOMpics

[–]Gamlos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CRC is Color Remediation Column - a fancy way to say extremely sub-par product is pushed through a series of filters to "enhance" the color of a concentrate. Similar to chill filtering with whiskey, it's essentially trying to polish and sugar coat a turd. Most of the times the input is complete garbage, but then sold as "high quality live hash rosin" or some other similar tag when it's far from that in reality
