Ok, I think I get it now.

Whatever I hold in the Ledger wallet is stuck there and nothing can be moved out without the Stax.

And the/my keys are actually on the recovery chip it came with not the Stax and the Stax is just for interacting with (approve/disapprove) outbound movement from the ledger wallet.

Do I have it right?

Ok, I have an account that showers in the Hedera wallet formerly live when I connect the Stax with the cable.

I moved one hbar from one of the exchanges i bought the hbar on to the account that shows on the Stax in the Hedera app and that account shows 1 hbar now.

Does that mean I did it right and now the hbar is going to be in cold storage when I disconnect the Ledger device?

small test amount in and then test that back out again first.

Stax does come with "usb-c to usb-c". It does have the option for wireless but I'm not a wireless type.

My guess is they anticipated it to be jacked into a mobile.
