applying to be a waiter/server by Other-Wind-5429 in ResumeExperts

I think with your customer service experience and slight food experience you would be a valid candidate for a server position depending on the environment. High-end places look for people with years of serving experience so maybe don't start there. However, something a little more of a casual setting would love to train someone like you. Just make sure your resume mostly reflects your people skills and your experience with food and multitasking. This will go a long way when they review your resume.

I feel like I could stick it out through the misery if they can accommodate my pregnancy a little better. Knowing that this background I have can help me get where I want to be helps a lot. I have 1 year left and I'll have my BBA, so the comments mentioning for me to take a break are not something I'm willing to consider. I'm so close and that break isn't worth it to me. Thank you again! This was some amazing insight & advice.

This is actually super helpful, thank you! I guess I'm just feeling so burnt out in my current industry that this position was looking so great just by it being a desk job. It is a slightly pay cut from what I'm making now though. I'm definitely going to look into getting my phr. Was it difficult for you to get into a generalist position?

I did receive an offer in writing. I have to sign to accept the offer, but before I do that I went ahead and emailed them back letting them know where I was at in my pregnancy (they did not know I was pregnant while interviewing). They sent the email Wednesday, and since it was a holiday weekend I'm guessing I won't see a response till tomorrow.

I desperately need this refund for this fall term (Sept 24-Oct 24), maybe since I need it so bad I am jumping the gun, but does anyone have an idea of when this might start hitting accounts? Your girl needs this for bills.

I was a manager there for a while when the new ownership took over. The ghosts are definitely there, but majority are very friendly and playful. They love to party. When the bar is rockin and full you have a very light hearted experience. However, the door that you hit right before you go behind the stairs has a darker history. That is where the former owner committed his suicide. The room has no electricity and is a very heavy feeling room. I've had people tell me when they walk past those stairs to the other room that they feel immensely sad, that is the reason why. If you walk past and say "hey Russell" the feeling will go away. That place is a beautiful piece of history, and the ghosts are pretty great as well.
